Theyre great to learn to fly which can be tricky. I recommend removing the propeller guards and not to fly anywhere near trees. The guards increase the weight and also increase the likelyhood of it getting stuck on a branch or something.
Flight time is around 5-7 mins so buying a bunch of batteries is recommended. They can be found for like $2 each though so its pretty cheap.

Only issue is the Symas dont have the longest range, and for some reason when it loses signal with the remote, it continues on with the last command it was given for several seconds. Ive lost two this way

Just to let people know I bought this thing before buying my phantom 2. This thing is great....first day I got it i got it stuck on top of a school lol that was a Saturday...it rained alot that Sunday and I went to get it on Monday assuming it was garbage. Popped in the new battery and it fired right up. Even the SD card held the video of the crash and all. Definitely worth the price. Lots of fun. Video is shaky obviously but still. Does cool flips also.
These are incredible for the 35-40 dollar price tag. Lots of fun. Very stable flight & easy to control, so much so that it can easily & safely be flown indoors in small rooms. Also does great outdoors in low winds. Camera is a bit shaky but is a fun add-on. The range is pretty small, and you should avoid much altitude as a gust of wind can easily blow this thing out of range and it will just continue flying off into a tree or whatever else. I think a pack of 5 extra batteries & multi-charger is about $25 on Amazon that will get you about an hour of flight time all together.

just a heads-up... these have an issue commonly known as the "wind bug" that basically makes them freeze up in anything more than a mild breeze.

I have this one and it is an absolute blast. I use it to chase my kids around the yard and race them. It is very durable. It's had a ton of crashes, pole hits and my two year old "helping". I get about 10 minutes per battery. A little less with the camera. In good lighting the camera is ok at best but still fun to play with. Just make sure you mute the audio before playing the video.

It is a great starter kit that is really just a blast to use.

How stable is it when there is a breeze?

I have the X5C and from what I've read, they pretty much all have a max flight time of around 5-7mins. The way around this I found was to just buy a bunch of batteries for it and keep swapping. Also having the camera unplugged helps to increase the flight time.

Can you remove the camera completely? And add a slightly larger battery? I'd be surprised if people watch video from these after a while, exspecially low quality stuff.
Anyone done it?
