Just did this via Groupon and a new customer coupon. It came in almost new condition. You start out with the free monthly 1gb plan trial, then downgrade to the free 500mb plan within 30 days. You can also add "freedom pop friends", just search for the list of emails, in order to get another free 500mbs a month. So I get a gig free each month. And I don't have to make a phone call every 60 days to keep it (sorry had to knock ringplus for stealing 7gigs of data back from me on three lines and leaving me with 15mbs a month and $90 in top offs that's now useless). Just watch the add ons when you sign up and remember to downgrade in that first month and you'll be good to go.

"FREE 500MB 4G LTE wireless internet every month, no questions asked"
Do we HAVE to sign up for a Freedompop account for that? Or just buy this and that's it? O.o

Got this last month but I don't have data on it because it was merged to my other dead device. Gave Freedompop my login info, phone # meid and iccid # of my tablet but they won't help me. Don't know what is their problem.

Better screen, I believe, plus fire doesn't have LTE.
But I still prefer fire since LTE is useless because of different SIM size compared to my phone, plus I like the ability to download games & apps to my SD card on Amazon Fire and with Fire flavor of the OS, it's so seamless, all my movies/tv shows are right there without needing to run another app.

I would love to get a 10" for $100.
Any chance of seeing 9.6 or 10" ones for $100? Or with nice screen for $150'ish. I just returned Fire 10 because I honestly didn't think it was worth $150 even though it's 10" with wide screen (not the silly ipad ratio near square).

funny, you must be one of the few that love the amazon appstore. most people want android and the play store without having to side load nonsense etc. Plus most of the apps on playstore aren't being ported to amazon anymore. Must be a pain to do so because the few apps that I almost purchased the pro upgrade for only support playstore

Thanks, just did. My noticed that my tablet doesn't have an MEID associated to it. Hopefully, they can help me out with this issue.

Freedom pop uses sprint devices because they're using sprints network. From what I know, unless the device is unlocked, you can't use other carriers. Sprint is CDMA and t-mobile is gsm.

I bought it for my son, so I didn't really care about lack of play store (although I read in few different places that it takes few minutes to install play store). I don't mind the android app store, and the 7" tablet that I got for $25 cannot be beat, even at full price $40 or $50, that 7" tablet is powerful, it has the guts of most 10" tablets and performance is excellent. It all comes down to preference, I suppose. The biggest benefit of this particular one is the LTE but I realized it's not unlocked, so LTE is not a big point. Also, I don't think this particular tablet will receive any more updates.

As for my search for 10" tablet, I think I will go with Samsung Tab E for $120 9.6" after some points & rewards I can use. It sounds like a super solid deal. What do you think? Does Lollipop allow apps to be installed and ran from SD card? That was another huge plus for Fire tablets. On that 7" tablet I had 64GB worth of games/apps/movies plus the internal storage. Very convenient.
