I got in on that Prime Day Xbox1 B1G1 deal where my original invoice was changed after they shipped because their system glitched. Luckily, I had the emails and screenshots of before. Basically, it was a big fiasco.

I finally got them to honor their original invoice and offer a refund, after I'd been charged more than 3 times my invoice amount, and also because a previous rep had acknowledged that I would get a refund because he said it was a known issue with a ticket administered. I also argued that they could've either stopped the shipment or asked for authorization for extra charge, but not break consumer protection laws by doing it without consent.

However, my refund email stated:
Quote :
Reason for refund: Account adjustment

Here's the breakdown of your refund for this item:

Goodwill Refund: $x

Goodwill doesn't sound too good, like they're doing me a favor and it's counting against me after all of the above, to honor the original invoice, and fix their mistake. Anyone with more knowledge about this know if this counts against my account and brings me closer to the ban hammer? Or is it normal protocol? Other email templates? I've had other refunds in the past where it just said account adjustment but this was a big amount.
Good Deal?

Very interesting look their OP, personally it sounds like what exactly you said Amazon is going out their way to compensate the customer on something they think they are right and your wrong. If I were you be careful as its been said in the past possibly leading to a ban (unless you can live without Amazon course).

+1 Amazon will "fire" you if you they consistently lose money on you. It is exactly as you stated it. They think they are right and you are wrong.

You can have 100 returns for 'good' reasons, proof that every item you bought was damaged, or whatever. As soon as you hit the magic number, they'll drop the ban hammer regardless. If they lose a certain amount of money on you, that's it.

I heard its pretty complicated I think they associate not only your name, but the address and credit card (I could be wrong, but thats what I read) so it can be a little more complicated than just opening a new account. I could be wrong course, but also another big fear is don't leave any Amazon credit on your account leading to losing that balance I stopped doing that use to put all my balance their now I save any amazon codes I have until I actually buy something.

It's not like getting banned from some plain-vanilla website. They'll apparently block your shipping address and your name/address combo as a billing contact. So at best you're now paying your neighbor cash to order things for you from their account. Kind of a pain in the butt if you weren't abusing the system before.

They have issued the goodwill credit to me a few times when I had to fight for promotions that were supposed to be issued in the first place. Amazon sucks.
