Great soldering iron. That's the lowest price it's ever been.

Sorry, Either no inventory available in your preferred store or your preferred store is not within your selected miles .

No shipping? I clicked for shipping. This has happened with Fry's more times than I can count. And I can count all nine fingers left. You need to hit these deals for shipping within a few minutes. Fry's reserves a certain number of promo deals for shipping. I think that number is one.

Probably a stupid question.... But for someone who plans on soldering things only a few times a year at most, should I get this or is one of the cheap under $20 ones enough?

As someone like yourself I have two cheap irons, one 15W for fine work, and one 30W for not-so-fine work. For general use it's hard to get away with just one fixed wattage iron. So if I was buying my first iron I would probably go for this one. HOWEVER I'm not sure if this is suitable for heavier work. I'd appreciate advice. Looks like [hakko.com] it is rated up to 65W.

Also available here [encompassparts.com] anytime for $74.95 + $8.95 S&H. When you create an account on the website they will email you a 15% coupon bringing the price of the iron to $63.71 .

depends on what you're soldering and if you care about the quality of your solder joints. I use an Aoyue 937 I got a few years back for $50 and it has served me very well. It doesn't have the same power rating as this iron but it's more than enough for the tinkering I do once or twice a month. At the minimum, I'd find something that has some sort of temperature control.

and I thought their Jun deal for $69 was good .... bought too soon, but then it was in stock and shipped so no complaints.

Great station.

[edited: received the code from another kind and generous slickdealer and ordered. Thanks!]

Can someone who is not going to use their email code please PM me theirs? Turns out I'm going to be near a Fry's later today. Thank you!
