For those who live in Cleveland Ohio. The grand opening special Cabelas has the Shimano Stradic CI4+ FB (new models) for $159 ea. Models size from 1000-4000.

I would think this is also very limited time only.

Best I can tell, this is likely made in Malaysia. But I am not 100% sure.

Seems to have been this way for a number of years, with the only spinning reel made in Japan is the Stella line. Of course, those are around $1000.

The Stradics are still a quality reel, regardless of where they are made. I use them for Bay fishing for sea trout, redfish, snook, etc, and find them to be great.

What rod would you use or recommend with this stradic reel "Bay fishing for sea trout, redfish, snook, etc"?

Thanks in advance!

Made in a country who didn't chase their industry out with union blackmail.

Since you spend that much money why not spend the same amount for rod. I would think St. Croix AVID/AVID X would be a very good pair. But there are many option available in that price range also.

Last Thursday Aug 11. There are many models available from 1000-3000 but the 4000 might be out of stock. It was completely pack when I was there the weekend 8/13.

IMO. I've had St Croix and they don't compare to a loomis rod.

I use a lot of light rods so the loomis mag light is my favorite rod now. The 5 ft 4 and the 6 ft loomis are all I fish with now. Handles pan fish/crappie/white bass and even wipers fine. Very good back bone. Doesn't feel flimsy like a st croix rod (and I bought many)

Anywho. Wish cabelas here would price match a 2500 out here. Coupled with some 85 for 100 gift cards and stack in a 20 off 100 coupon this reel could be very very cheap.

Ah, that makes more sense. Really wish they would do it locally here as that's a great price for the reel. Hopefully maybe when they open the new cabelas here they can replicate the deal.
