New Roku streaming sticks usually go for $50, right?

Groupon has refurbs for $23.99. YMMV, since this popped up in my region. Not sure if it'd be the same in your area.

it's the old 2014 on or whatever not the 3600 2016 model

They had these for $15 (new) at Walmart recently. Like all walmart clearance deals that was also very ymmv. I'm almost certain these were $20 on groupon refurbished last week.

Still a decent price but this is the previous generation on the roku stick (3500 not 3600)

At least my roku stick can still play off my plex server.
which 3 amazon sticks refuse to play from.
I'm sure there is a work around, but amazon needs to figure it out.

Received a $10 promo code that worked so $14 seems slick to me. $4 shipping. Wished they accepted Paypal though.

You'd be mistaken. This is the old 2014 Roku Stick and it's slow as dirt. The new 2016 Roku Stick is what you want. It's comparable to the Roku 3's performance.

And hint to all the people who keep commenting on/posting the old 2014 device. The new 2016 model is all black, not purple!

Thanks, just watched a youtube vid on the speed difference and it's pretty significant. My SE is really slow so I'll wait for a deal on the 2016 stick.

I had a Roku 2XS until recently, but the old Roku Stick (this model) has been holding up for me pretty well. I'm sure I'll upgrade to a 2016 Stick once this one gets unbearably slow, but for now, it plays 1080p movies off of my Plex server just fine.

It plays video just fine once it's begins, but navigating the menus, waiting for apps to load and, worst of all, waiting for it to boot up got annoying very quickly. I'm mentioning the boot time because I had mine powered by the television's USB port. Every time the TV was shut off the Roku Stick would power down as well. The new Roku Stick boot speed is significantly improved and is very reasonable now.

I have the new Roku stick and am happy with the performance but every time I go to use it it's locked up,have to unplug it from outlet and plug back in to reset. USB port on tv is not an option for me

Don't understand why it doesn't have a sleep option like Apple TV,Fire Stick etc.
