How would I connect this to my current Asus router so I can just use the Time Capsule feature?

Basically, to use Time Capsule with your existing router you connect an Ethernet cable from your router's LAN port to the Time Capsule WAN port. Your router should then assign Time Capsule its own IP address. The Time Capsule hard drive will then show as a Time Machine candidate on any Mac connected to that same network.

Awesome! thanks for the information. I'm debating whether it will be worth it to get this. my Asus router is awesome so I don't really need another. but I've always liked the idea of the time capsule...

Time capsule is awesome if you have apple devices. Range is great, simple to use and fast. I have nighthawk x4, but thinking about going back to the capsule.

I do have a couple apple devices but my Asus router has been flawless. I'm still thinking about the time capsule though

Wonder if Apple will be updating these anytime soon and this is a signal of such? I just bought a refurb one from apple for $20 cheaper, debating whether to return and get one of these instead

For $20 more I would since it'll have a new HDD.
