Editor's Notes & Price Research

  • BrickSeek's Inventory numbers are pulled directly from the store's system providing a reliable source for in-store pricing and availability.
  • Pandora One is a commercial free music streaming service where you create custom playlists via personalized radio stations.
  • This is a nice price in comparison to paying their $5/ month fee which comes out to $60/ year. -slickdewmaster

Target Stores have a Pandora One 12 month subscription card for $36. This is an $18.89 savings over the annual subscription that Pandora offers on their own site.

Even though the card states "$36 for one year upgrade", I just applied one to my currently active subscription and received a confirmation that my subscription was extended for a year past the previous expiration.

Music genome project. It's an organic way to get exposed to new artists.

Pandora One doesn't give you unlimited skips, just more. You also get a higher bitrate and no commercials.

because sometimes it's a hassle to browse the catalog just to play some music. With Pandora I just press play on my desired radio station and DONE!. I understand Spotify can do the same, but it's a hassle and it gives me too much, too much going on just to play some damn music.

My car radio only supports Spotify via Android Auto... which is crap at this time. With one press of a button I can load up Pandora on my radio.

Not sure how accurate Brickseek is supposed to be, but according to Brickseek, my local Target has 26 on hand. I went to my local Target and I spoke with two employees, both of whom said they've never seen Pandora gift cards, and when I walk over to the big gift card area, they have Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, and about 30 other companies/services, but no Pandora.

To my Target at least I know these are relatively new. I usually always take a look at the gift card section and I'm certain I've never seen these cards there before this visit, so I suppose there's a chance they're new in some (most?) other stores too.

You can actually take the DPCI number I posted in the OP and punch it into one of those red price scanners w/ the number pad on the right side. It'll tell you the current price, stock out on the floor and stock in the backroom (maybe they're still in the back?).

I have seen some times where Brickseek is wrong, so it's definitely possible that's what's going on.

Hey thanks man. This is great price. I bought like 6 of these a year ago thinking it'll be the last batch from Target. Never knew that the deal will come back Smilie

Fraction of the cost (unless properly utilizing family account), as well as simplicity and a (IMO) better learning algorithm.

I have both, and I love both, but they are rather different product. I love building playlists and having Spotify to listen to specific songs when I want to. If I just want music and I don't really care which tracks as long as it's a certain feel, Pandora wins easily. I also have a number of well-trained stations on Pandora. Spotify's radio feature constantly disappoints me.

To each their own, but at $3/mo (-5% RC), hard to go wrong.

Thanks, OP! I was able to input the DPCI in the price checker and see they were not on the floor but in the stockroom. Sales associate said they showed as discontinued in his system and that's why they weren't on display.
