Wonder if the parallel connection with a Smarter Tools STAP-2000iQ will work, appear to be the same.

Inverter generator requires high power electronics, mostly consists of MOSFET, caps and controller IC. These component will burn out quickly if company chose cheap off brand components manufactured from unknown fabricators. They all copy from one design paradigm, but uses dirt cheap PCBs made from sweatshops. There are thousand of reason why MOSFETs will prematurely fail, primarily due to designer's lack of understanding of electronics, not to mention using dirt cheap electronics component made by start-up semiconductor fabricators. When they fail, good luck finding a distributors willing to service their parts. These newly established generator companies buy same cheap generators from one manufactures and recycle brand name with different plastic casing, selling under different brand name.
It's like buying a cheaply made flashlight, promising all kinds of technological advantage but usually fails within days because they use manufacture reject parts.
Generator is an expensive investment, don't make purchase decision based on non-sense user review posted in Amazon, most of Amazon's review is useless paid posting to increase product rating, consequently dumping completely worthless durable goods to innocent customers, hence boost Amazon's sales figure.
