FYI: I've had one for about 9 months, and love it. Haven't touched my box of about 7 other controllers since.

It's a bit different than some other controllers, so does take a bit of getting use to it. But it's more customize-able than any other PC Game controller I've ever seen. And in like 3 clicks with the controller in Steam, you can download other people's posted configurations. (the "Fish Tail" ones are the best)

It also has a high precision gyro (3-axis motion control). So for things like FPS, many of us use the right pad as a "track ball" to move around quickly, and the Gyro for high precision aiming. It feels like you are aiming with a real gun, once you tweak the "sensitivity" to your liking.
LOVE LOVE LOVE mine in RL! Literally play it like every couple days, hours at a time. In my config, I set it up with "cruise control". Meaning it auto holds the gas, and as I pull the trigger it slows me down. Pull all the way through the "soft" trigger area, and I cost/stop. Pull past the "click" to full trigger, and I go in reverse. The two stage triggers are so cool! Not even the $100 controllers can be setup to do that!

I use the left stick click in, to activate power slide and roll when in the air, too.

The ABXY buttons are a bit smaller than most other controllers however. But since you also get two back side "grip" buttons, and the dual stage triggers, and bumpers, I often only use the X button anyway.

This is the FIRST controller that didn't make my hands hurt after hours of play. Just get it, and try out my config, and you won't be sorry! PM me if have questions after you got it.
The "GYRO" is in reference to the "motion control" that's built in. Literally, you can yaw/pitch/roll in all 3 axis, and it senses that and uses it to control anything you want, or nothing at all. Most use it as a secondary "more precise" mouse aim control. Activate/adjust it via the "globe with rings" icon in the middle of the configuration screen, tucked under the image of the controller on screen.

Once you adjust the "sensitivity" to your liking, it feels like you are aiming a laser pointer at your screen! It's a game changer, and enabled me to be about 90% as good as with mouse, in FPS, in like a couple weeks of play. PM me if you want to Steam chat sometime, and I'll help you find a "fish Tail" config and explain how to adjust it to your liking.

Don't research it, just buy it from Amazon and return it for free if not happy. Smilie Trust me; if you like customizing controls, or wish you could relax and sit back to play vs hunch over a keyboard, this is for you. This one controller is all I've used in 9 months, because it always works on every game.... and has like a dozen different "rumble" modes you can choose from too. (though I don't use that, you might)

My buddy has "Steam Link" and "Steam Controller". He loves the steam controller but said Steam Link is a great choice, if you have no choice. (i.e. PC far from TV) But in the end, if you can run a long HDMI and USB wire from your PC to your TV, that would be better. The Link plays smooth he said, and look good. But once he connected directly, it just "felt" a bit better. (likely Link adds 10 ms of delay, or drops frames to 50 HZ , or something like that)

To each their own... But with the 1300 reviews @ 4.1 on Steam Controller, vs 275 reviews @4.5 on SteelSeries on Amazon, I think the reviews are basically "about the same". Also, Steam controller is literally 3 clicks with the controller to browse and load other player's pre-built configs, which are sorted by popularity. Where any other controller requires you to manually experiment settings within each game, input by input. As for use on a phone, that's just silly. As for bluetooth, that's noticably laggy vs using the included (and very small) dongle.

Welcome! You'll love the steam controller. As for battery life it is AMAZING! Most people say it's up around 40 or more hours of play. In my experience, I easily go closer to 60 or more hours between charges, and can't remember the last time the controller turned off, before I arbitrarily decided to charge the batteries up. It does warn you when the connection is getting weak. But I usually go another week past that point too.
You are welcome! I love it too!
It uses Steam as the interface to modify the controls, and update the firmware. So I believe you must have steam on the device, in order for it to work. And I believe Steam is not on FireStick.

Yes, you can play ANY PC program (even if NOT Steam) that uses any combination of keyboard, mouse, or/and joystick. One, some, or all at once. This includes anything even Excel, Word. so yes, BF4 on Origin.

You can download my Fish Tail config and try it. I use it on BF4. Just had to add the Origin game to Steam as a "non steam game" and all was good. My config is a work in process, as BF4 has a ton of controls for the vehicles. PM me if you want to Steam chat and I'll help you out with it.

It even has multiple "Action Sets". This means with the click of one button while in game, the entire controller can be changed. I use the "◄ Select" button to change between Foot/Heli/Jet/Tank/Bike control schemes. It's also a ton easier to modify while in game, vs using the BF4 options to change controls.

No other controller has as many features, or can do as many things as the Steam Controller can. Clickable Touchpad/trackball that can output mouse or joystick or D-Pad or anything, dual stage analog + digital triggers, back side "grip" buttons, motion sensing gyro, insane amount of customization, easy method of applying user built and OEM built key mapping, joystick+keyboard+mouse control output on ANY of the butons/triggers/pads/gyro, "mode shifting" (hold one button, and it changes what the other buttons do), "action sets" (see above paragraph), rumble, haptic feedback, and so much more! All for $35 bucks!?!?!?!?!?!

9 Months later, after I paid $58, I have ZERO regrets. In fact at $35, I decided to literally just purchased a second one, just to give it to a friend of mine as a birthday gift.

How is this for Rocket League? Wife prefers using a PS3 controller to mouse/KB, but still feels a bit clunky.

I went ahead and picked one up, which will be here tomorrow. There's a ton we don't know about RL, having just bought it, but it's been loads of fun. She especially complains that the controls are frustrating, so hopefully this will help.

It's free shipping with Prime. Not everyone has Prime. You should make that clear in your post.

Steam Link is also $35, which is a steal. This is a better deal than the Steam Summer Sale, which had a shipping fee

I tried to switch from a 360 controller to this after 300 hours in RL. Hated it... went with a xbone controller... luv it.

not having sticks just feels weird when turning the car
