I don't care for jet, but since this card is/ should be on par with an RX 480 4gb or 470 8gb, $168 is the lowest I've seen for either. Price-performance I would say this is the best deal as of this writing unless they release an overclocked 1060 tomorrow and could be found for $180 after various savings.

*edit - VRAM maybe an issue for a few current games (for max performance), but seeing as how a 2gb GTX 960 can still properly run today's games I'll say it's a non-issue for now. When games *require* 4gb+ VRAM to even run, then this card will become obsolete.

Amazing price for a 1060, but keep in mind this is the 3GB 1060 (AKA 1050). Compared to the 1060 which has 1280 cores, this card only has 1152. Still, at $170, this should be an incredible card. I'd say it would compete very competitively with the RX 470.

Is that 1280 cores vs 1152 cores big difference?
Now, newegg sell a few more 1060 with 3GB around $200.
Tempting to buy this to play 1080p resolution max or wait until original or OC 1060 with 6GB at $250

No it won't be a big difference. At 1080p it will be fine. I have not seen any reviews yet but I bet it's still better than a 480.

another come back attempt?

hope it works really

it's not in our interest as consumers to see them fail. intel and nvidia would run the market and prices would be wherever they want them

If you get this and decide to play 1440p @ games, then you can always SLI this to get 6gb of memory.
But you have to be in the correct universe, or have a universal adapter for this to work.

Honestly I think the prices are already wherever they want them. Newegg is still selling an i7 4790k for $340, which is $100 more than you'll pay during the shopping holidays. I will guarantee they still make money at $240 on a 4 year old processor.
