Wew I thought it was RGB.. I just bought the LUX RGB with brown switches for full price and I told you it the best keyboard I ever own.

I used Blackwidow Chroma Tournament Edition with their clicky green switches and I loved it but K70 feels more refine.. more upscale and luxurious in some way.

If you don't need RGB lightning, buy the brown switches now!!

I'd strongly recommend spending some time reading the MechanicalKeyboard sub on Reddit before buying anything. I'd avoid keyboards with nonstandard bottom rows.

What's non-standard on the bottom row of this keyboard?

It only matters if you ever plan on replacing the keycaps

So if I ever had to replace them, I would need to use Corsair caps only?

Not exactly. You'd need to find correctly sized keycaps for the bottom row.

But for a lighted keyboard you'd need to find caps that lets through light, too.

A standard bottom row has Ctrl, Windows, and Alt keys that are all the same width. On the K70, the Ctrl key is slightly wider while the Windows key is slightly narrower. The spacebar is also slightly longer on the K70 compared to standard layouts.

Apparently these non-standard keycap sets are tougher to find and you might have less selection in the event that you wanted to change them (whether it be because of personal preference or because one or more of the stock keycaps broke). You also wouldn't be able to reuse the non-standard bottom row keycaps on a keyboard with a standard layout.

One thing to consider is that Corsair's customer support is supposedly terrific. I've heard of people having a single keycap break during the warranty period and getting an entire set of replacements in return, free of charge. So at least for the first two years, it shouldn't be a big deal so long as you like the stock keycaps.

Refurb RGB version found on Corsairs site for $110. Refurb red/ blue found on Newegg via ebay for $90. $100 isn't all that great, but cherry brown switches never seem to found at a significant discount. If you really didn't care for full sized keyboard, you could buy a Chinese knockoff brown switch fully customizable board and switch them out with authentic cherry's down the line (or gateron or whatever). Something like this. [amazon.com].

I have this keyboard, but the RGB version with Cherry MX Brown switches, and I LOVE IT. I think keys are still kinda loud for being brown but I'm ok with it. Definitely not as loud as Red from what I've read. But almost gives you the same feel as Red switches would.

The K70 is all aluminum and the Strafe is plastic. That I know forsure. There may be other differences

Note that this keyboard has only red leds. As far getting this over the corsair strafe, it's essentially a dedicated media control keys and its aluminum body. However, the strafe has a usb pass through and a much better color shine due to its white backing under the keys.
