i7-6700t is a great chip. i7 features with a 35w tdp. Makes a great server for someone that needs more power than an amd 5350 (transcoding, virtualization, etc.) This case only has limited space for hard disks, but the chip itself usually costs about $360 or more.

Just got it! Fantastic price for specs. Just replace the HDD with SSD and it will be even faster. Not for gaming - but definitely great for everything else.

Wouldn't this be good for gaming if you add power supply and graphics cards?

edit: never mind, tiny case. you might be able to fit a low profile or other small graphics card in this.

The case is definitely too small. Perhaps if you get another case ($40-50), you could move all components and get the power supply and card. Not super sure that it is worth it. Would be simpler to just build your own from scratch if you want to game on it.

Looking for a desktop for home-based use would be plex, photo, little bit of video editing. Would this be a good? Also is this a good price for the specs. PC Noob here.

well I got it. spent last 2 weeks hunting for i7 6th Gen desktop. this is a great deal - about $200 less than other comparably spec'd desktops.

That's plenty for a server. What do you think a server for home use needs to do that would utilize more than 16GB of ram?
