Lowe's has Centrex Plastics, LLC Commander 27-Gallon Tote with Standard Snap Lid for $7.98. Regular price was $14.
This is a one day deal only for 8/26/2016
NOTE: Online price is still $9.98. But that is a mistake. In store price is 7.98. I went to the Lowe's physical store and they have a whole bunch laying right in front of the store with a price quoted at $7.98. Combine with coupons and you'll get yourself a deal of the year! I haven't seen this at this price for a long time. If you need storage tote, this is the beast. There's not many out there that can compete with this tote.

Lowe's and Costco versions have strong lids. Home Depot has sh*tty weak lids which bend and cave.

Home Depot versions are 15" high (narrower body)
Costco versions are 14" high (wider body)
My lowes versions are in another storage facility, can't measure.

No, the different versions may not stock on each other. Costco and Home depot versions are not compatible.

I only buy during sales. Costco recently had the best sale, bought over 80 units. Earlier this year bought 30 home depot versions on sale for one day.

Get the Lowes or Costco versions. I return bent/cracked Costco totes once a year for credit. Sticking with Costco.

Are you sure the HD and Costco versions don't stack? Because I have the HD totes, and my buddy has the Costco totes, and ours stacked on a camping trip this year. Granted, his were older Costco totes.

All I know is that I paid $6 for my HD totes on sale earlier this year.

They change the dimensions of the lids and bodies once in awhile. We couldn't stack our 2016 Home Depot and Costco units together.

Correct. Some of the ones I've bought have had rounded bottom corners and others have sharper corners. The lids reflect the design of the bottom so different batches don't fit into each other or stack properly.

I still bought five today. Thanks OP For posting the deal.

When Costco had this on sale for $5.99 last month here in Los Angeles area I bought about 20 of them. A few weeks later, I went back to Costco to get some things and walked past the same isle where they have the totes and noticed it was different than the ones I got when it was on sale.

It seems like the ones they have on sale are different than the ones that are regular price (made by Centrix). I prefer the ones on sale not only because they are cheaper but seems like the quality is better and have no smell unlike the Centrix ones. I stacked them 5 high with the 4 on top of the bottom one with a total weight around 200 pounds (about 50 pounds each tote with the heaviest on the bottom).

yeah, I think they are the same tbh. I have personally seen 2 different lid types at HD (while the lids themselves did not stack well by themselves, the lidded totes stacked just fine).

I also heard people complaining that the Costco lids (which *coincidentally looked exactly like the one HD lid) changed to a different lid (that *coincidentally looks exactly like the other HD lid).

I think you will find the different lids changed store to store depending on which area you are in and shipment your store got. I think they are the same totes and the 2 lid types just led to some initial confusion that they were different between HD and Costco.

either way, I don't think this price is much of a deal.

Same here but I bought six and a few small items and got the whole package for $38 picked up locally using the other coupon. Sweet.
