Thread Details

I called T-Mobile yesterday regarding a problem I was having with one of my phones. As a joke, I asked if there was any way I could still upgrade my current 4 for $100 2.5 GB plan to the old 10 GB 4 for $120 that is no longer offered. I was going to switch in any case to the current Simple Choice 4 for $120 6 GB plan before they do away with these altogether. To my surprise, the customer rep told me the plan was still available in their system and since I've been with them for about 7 years, he'd ask his supervisor. He called me back within an hour and upgraded my plan to the former 4 for $120 Simple Choice 10 GB which they pulled months ago. I was pretty damned pleased and thought that I would pass this info along as it might be worth 5 or 10 minutes of your time dialing 611 from your cell phone and plead with them to do this for you if you've been a loyal customer. Extremely YMMV but you may get lucky. If you get turned down, call back again and talk to someone else. I personally think they saved this plan for their customer retention department when someone threatens to leave T-Mobile and they offer this to them to stay with the company. After he told me he switched me onto the plan, it showed up right away in my account for the correct amount of $120 like it used to be. I believe that same plan is currently $160.

Works for new accounts. I just got 4 for $120 10gb today(8 Sept 2016) by calling 1-866-315-2225 opt 1. This plan includes full speed tethering.
I also got 5 tablet sims 200mb/month with unlimited slow data for free.

I wish I could switch to this but my family international mobile/landlines won't be carried over.

Just tried but the rep wouldn't budge. Said he had tried it earlier but didnt have access to it? Awesome that you got on this plan though op!

Edit: called back in again and was able to get on the plan. You gotta get the rep to call retention center and then you should be golden. Thanks again op! Was able to get 5 lines for 140!

I bet when I originally called I got somebody in customer retention as a fluke. I'm so happy that it worked for you. Just goes to show that it never hurts to ask. The rep I spoke with did tell me that not everyone has access to the old plans like he has. I think the trick is to ask for customer loyalty/retention right away. My rep told me they work very hard to keep their loyal customers happy. I've also added a 5th line for an additional $20 as well. This plan, with the Binge On option and Data Stash, was among the best they've ever offered and I was very upset when they pulled it a few months ago. I also think it's better than their upcoming Tmobile One plan which starts on 9/1/16. I would urge anyone who missed out on this plan to call immediately before all of the Simple Choice plans go away. They say they will stick around for a while but who knows? They may keep them but not give the 4th line for free any longer in an effort to raise prices.

Yep $20 for additional line. You could also choose to leave the 5th line as it is right now for no additional charge, but what's the point in that right? Lol

Too bad this doesn't work for me because I have a business account with 16 lines...
If I could do 4 lines for 120, rest keep it the way it is, it'll be nice but I tried that with a 4/120 6gb that didn't work, because of mixes of different gb plans.

I have a business account w/11 lines & we have it--best plan ever, especially in that it's all of North America at that price.

Long live John Legere, market disruptor of the century. He brought giants like AT&T and Verizon to their knees!
