It may be charged to credit card BUT it is ADDED to top up.

Here it is from the promo of both the BLT and the Mad Surfing BBQ Brisket Free Plan:For Regular Upgrades:
A $25 upgrade fee will be charged to your credit card, and added to your existing Top Up. Afterwards, if, and only if, the Top Up balance reaches $0, another $38 auto Top Up will be automatically charged to your credit card on file.

Loaner phones confirmed to reserve these offers. Quote from Karl: if you take a loaner phones will qualify you for all promotions tomorrow.

"Rules of the road" for all RingPlus Free plans:

Must make an outgoing call at least once every 60 days. This is critical, RingPlus is enforcing this rule.
Only one free plan per physical user, multiple free lines on the same account are OK as long as used by different people.

RingPlus can activate most inactive Sprint postpaid phones as well as the unlocked iPhone 6s, 6s+, 6, 6+, or Nexus 5, 5X, 6 or 6P from T-Mobile, Verizon, or ATT; and the Verizon iPhone 5s or 5c. Enter the phone's MEID (on a label on the outside of the phone packaging) on the RingPlus Device Check Page to see if your phone can be activated on RingPlus.https://my.ringplus.net/device_va...quests/new

Effective April 17, 2016, Sprint will no longer allow new never activated Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Sprint Prepaid phones to be activated on MVNOs. Phones from these prepaid brands must be used for 12 months on the service they were sold for before they can be activated on Sprint MVNOs, including RingPlus.
Promo page for general help https://promos.ringplus.net/

Loaner phones https://store.ringplus.net/Loaner..._c_55.html Once you receive your phone, you will be able to go to RINGPLUS.NET and activate it on the currently available plans.

MAD PLAN are Direct Over SPRINT Network with NO AD or routing through R+. MAD will incur MONTHLY CHARGES, However BBQ Brisket MAD is supported by Beta Research Data Manipulation and possible ad insertion so is the exception this one time.

Plan 4: Mad BBQ Plus Plan

MAD PLAN are Direct Over SPRINT Network with NO AD or routing through R+.
These are unlike 1-3 plans above and MAD will incur MONTHLY CHARGES

Mad/Full Speed LTE 5GB + Unlimited Surfing Data

Line 1 for $39.99
Line 2 for $29.99
Line 3 for $19.99
Line 4 for $9.99
Total = $99.96

These are MONTHLY rates on the MAD BBQ PLUS PLAN ONLY.*

*All of the Mad plans, including the ones in the promo, don't have lag because they aren't routed through RingPlus. They also don't have the ads you hear on regular RingPlus lines. You lose the apps (grayed out on Dashboard) which is a dealbreaker for some. Call quality should be as good as regular Sprint service for your area. https://social.ringplus.net/discussion/6407 (original discussion of Mad Plans link)
==============

Reuben Surfing Plan:

Over the next five billing cycles, RingPlus will subtract $7.60 off your cost until the plan cost reaches $0. (Second month will be $30.20 …Third month will be $22.60 until after five months $0).

38.00 + 30.40 + 22.80 + 15.20 + 7.60 = $114 plus taxes

Fine print for the Surfing Plans:

"What is different? (Why is it a research plan?)

The basic goal is making your data last longer and to reduce data burn, without the cell phone user really noticing it and opening it up for alternative revenue streams paying for the free data.

You know that many companies are currently playing with data manipulation and slower speeds for streaming (but still enough to enjoy the video) with better compression, throttling some times, and sometimes not, to reduce data burn. We will do the same with the addition of inserting advertisement by Internet search, or an ad when you launch the browser sometimes.

Data throttling still to be determined, follow the Social topic here for more speculation https://social.ringplus.net/discu...rm_Comment

Discussion over at R+ Social about throttling on previous Surfing plans: https://social.ringplus.net/discu...512kbps/p1

Mad Surfing BBQ Brisket will not incur monthly charge unless you choose $1.99 optional tethering option.

Phone sources: RingPlus Store, RingPlus classifieds, Swappa, eBay, Craigslist, locally used phones (verify passes BYOD checker).
BYOD Your Own Phone - Test Eligibility here: https://ringplus.net/#byosd

If you have a top up balance >$0, you do NOT have to top up again until your balance reaches $0.

....Starting new free lines immediately from canceled phones may be delayed until billing cycle data, use placeholder workaround for immediate activation if you run into that issue.
....If you get billing cycle delay, it means until the renewal date on your plan, not a fixed 30 days. Placeholder + swap is quick fix.
....See more on cancellations at bottom of wiki.
....No upgrades during flash - except for Truly Free (excluding TFU) during the flash (top up balance required)
....Upgrades and M+ opening to be announced after flash - will be based on # of new subscriptions - update - available Aug 16th for free - social media requirement
....Downgrades to TF are no longer allowed.
....M+ is not required during the flash or upgrade
....FED - Many reports are that R+ prepaid phones that have been deactivated are passing FED checks! One iPhone 6s failed FED check May 6. There is no guarantee.
....Separate accounts are typically recommended for multiple lines - not locking into a single email address

FED - PLEASE READ ... Important Activation Notice Regarding Prepaid Phones referred to as FED = Financial Eligibility Date https://social.ringplus.net/discu...-phones/p1
As of April 17, 2016, per our carrier partner Sprint, Members and potential Members will no longer be able to activate prepaid devices which are not eligible under Sprint's FED policies (explained below). Such prepaid devices will no longer pass FED until actual eligibility date is met. This is not a new Sprint policy. It is merely a system update to the Sprint system to comply with Sprint's existing FED policies, and to close the gap in the system that allowed such devices to pass FED and be activated on carriers other than those that originally sold the device ("originating carrier").

FED - As of 4/17, in order to activate a Sprint/Boot/Virgin prepaid phone with RingPlus, the phone must have been active with its original carrier for 12 months.
  • Already activated phones are not affected because they will not trigger an FED check
  • But if you deactivate a phone, you will trigger an FED check when you (re)activate the phone.
  • You will no longer be able to activate a new-in-box Sprint/Boost/Virgin prepaid phone (e.g., from Best Buy) with RingPlus.
  • Upgrading a line to a different plan is NOT an activation and will not trigger an FED check
  • A device swap will trigger an FED check on the phone being activated
  • To date, all R+ phones which have been deactivated are passing the FED check (with 1 exception), although this is not guaranteed by policy
Roaming included with M+, Roaming for non-M+ $50+tax
Per minute / per MB charges still apply. M+ & non-M+, 14¢ per minute, 55¢ per MB, SMS roaming just substracts from allotment.
https://social.ringplus.net/discu...t/17213/p1
https://social.ringplus.net/discu...-top-up/p1

FreedomPop phones purchased post FED (04/16/16) must be on FP for a minimum of 6 months before FP will release the ESN.

If you cancel your current line with R+ then you will lose the remaining top-up balance for that line, your phone number, and the phone from the canceled line. Also, in some cases, you will not be able to register a new free line using the phone from the canceled line until the end of the billing cycle (<1 day up to 30 days max), although you can use a placeholder for new registrations and swap in the canceled phone for $1.99 as an easy workaround if that happens. To this point, all deactivated R+ phones have been able to reactivate new R+ plans despite FED policy, although the billing cycle may come into play on occasion. Update: On May 6, someone reported that they deactivated a iPhone 6s from R+, and it would not reactivate. A BYOD check gave the message that it failed FED. This is the only report of a R+ activated phone getting deactivated and then not meeting FED.

R+ classified is now open for business. https://social.ringplus.net/class.../items/all

the number of upgrades = the number of new activations ; 1000 new activations today will open for 1000 upgrades tomorrow. Upgrades are not guaranteed for everyone. you have to be very quick.

Guessing no free upgrades again for those that have a healthy balance in their account still from prior top-ups?

And is the audio delay/lag any better on other plans? I'm on HH1 (I think) and the audio delay is annoying as hell.

Wouldn't touch 1 or 2.
Nothing with Surfing in the title.

That leaves 3 or 4.
$38 for #3 is pricey.

Not clear what the price is on 4, but it's 5K full speed (and then surfing) and free tether, so if it's good for upgrades and priced right, that's where I'd go.

OUCH.
Not going there either, then.

Back to 3 then... $38 looks like a bargain compared to monthly.

Problem is that past experience means nothing. Could (and probably will) change just when you need it most.

$38 for new line. Most likely $25 non M+ / $10 M+ limited upgrades like previous promos. Or did M+ get screwed out of the $10 upgrades last time?

Dunno. Ask xxxHolic. He'll know (and be glad to tell you)

Good point and worth knowing. $25 is good if I don't have to spend a night of my life pressing F5 for nothing.
