terrible warranty support. lost $3k due to an electrical storm and they did not give me anything...

It's nearly impossible to claim warranty when these surge protectors fail as the vendors will try to put you at fault in most cases.

And if you are serious about protecting your equipment, these type of these surge protectors will do nothing against a storm. These are classified as type 3 surge protectors and at most protect against small surges when turning on/off devices.

Look into type 2 protectors which protect the whole house near your electrical panel if its thunderstorms you are worried about.
