Clearly most of you are just media consumers.

Try managing windows on a 21:9 screen. I'm a software dev and managing windows within 1 screen especially a 21:9 is very tedious. Since 4k 16:9 started getting affordable its been a bliss for production. Using 3 of these screens is amazing especially with the amount of screen estate you have. Having references while programming is never an issue to juggle around in different screens.

Thanks! Was just about to buy used ones for $430 + tax. This price with no tax saved me a ton of money.

Does anyone know what the warranty is on these since its from a reseller? Do we just have to check the service tag?

Mehhh I still think the U3415W (ultra wide 3440x1440) is a lot more useful and more wow factor.

I agree. Initially, I was looking in getting 3x 4K monitors. But after reading on what the hype is about the new trend of the 21:9 monitors... I am sold.

I am looking at one of the options below:
1. 2x 21:9 Monitors
2. 2x 4k monitors and 1 x 21:9 monitor (21:9 monitor in the middle and 4k on both sides)

Thoughts?

LOL. yeah boring, the 34 ultrawide samsung on frys a far better deal than this. I don't even think you need 2160p (4k LOL) for 27 inch.

Dude... I have mine LG 34" 21:9 ultra wide 3440x1440 and so far is the best monitor ever. I got it for USD530.00 over Adorama.

I currently have a 3 screen setup with 3 different manufacturers with 3 different resolutions. I looked into getting the 34" Ultra-wide screen but I do a lot of programming and development on multiple machines. I talked to others who also do they same and they say its hard to get used to, especially when you can't use hot keys to move windows between screens, have different text size for coding, vs previewing etc. Some mentioned using an app that can simulate multiple screens, but it sounds like for now, its just not a good solution for developers, otherwise I would be down!

The display will not flicker at 30Hz. The monitor retains a full frame in memory to prevent this, but it does make usage unpleasant for video, gaming or page scrolling.

1080p is good up to 24 inches. 1440 is good from 27-32 inches. i'd need at least 32 inches before even considering 4k resolution. i'd pass on this
