Musician's Friend Labor Day Sale includes a couple US-made PRS guitars at $800 bucks!

Pretty good prices. They will probably sell out of them. nod

I love made in Maryland PRS S2'S. Not much of a deal here though. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/se...&Ns=pLH&N=

good deal. these guitars are made in the same plant on the same lines as the custom 22s and 24s, just have lower key finishes and pups and hardware. I owned an S2 single cut and it sounded and played awesome for the money. a lot of versatility with the coil tapping too--remember loving the sound of a tapped neck, full hum bridge together.

I believe the bodies and necks are also CNC'd vs. hand carved.

Damn, are all the custom lines hand carved...? Really? Could easily see that for the Private Stock sort of stuff. Many many high end luthiers and production shops have gone to CNC for consistently I know, surprising that production line PRSs are hand carved.

I doubt they are hand carved. nothing on their website says so.

I stand corrected. In doing a little more research, the regular line PRS are still CNC'd but because of the carve have a thicker top cap and have A LOT more time with hand sanding and finishing. The regular line also has a very pronounced carve and binding vs the S2 having more of a beveled edge.
