RAM Trucks 20% to 30% off YMMV

RAM has a 20% rebate on the oldest 5% of dealer stock. If your dealer caries a large inventory of trucks, he'll have a lot of trucks at 20% off. If he does not, he will have nothing. This rebate can be combined with the regular discount a dealer will give you on the selling price. In my case this turned out to be altogether 30% off. I got a $47K truck for $32K!!!!

This is the best Labor Day truck deal from any manufacturer.

Here are some examples from the So Cal area:
http://www.rydellchryslerdodgejee...ecd08b.htm $12K off

http://www.sandiegochryslerdodgej...4ef0ea.htm $13K off

http://www.hunterdodgechryslerjee...787549.htm $15K off

This is the first time Ram has ever gone this high on rebates. I assume it is in the response to the 20% off sale Chevrolet had in the last week of August.

I bought mine yesterday from Hunter in Lancaster. Jordan, the Internet Manager, had the patience of a saint and let me test drive 6 of them. It was the best experience buying a vehicle I ever had.

How does one go about finding the oldest 5% of stock, is this something that is easily searchable on the ram website?

No, you got a truck worth $25k that was priced at $47k for $32k. Trucks are soooo overpriced - and the resale prices on used ones are even worse. However, if this was for Toyota trucks I'd be at the dealership right now, but it's Dodge...no thanks at any price!

Would have to agree. Their profit margins on trucks (and full size SUV's) are cash cows. They just gave them a skinnier cow.

it is best to check the consumer's report on ram trucks before making the decision to see if they're a good buy with or without the discount.

hey, if they make the msrp $70k then i'd be saving over $30k!!!

I would definitely buy if that was the case! LOL

Don't be fooled by MSRP's, they are whatever the manufacturer wants/needs them to be in order to sell.

You are correct, the rebate is quite unusual since usually it's just a constant cash value like $4000 and does not change if you buy a more expensive truck.

Dodge is middle of the road. If you could get this deal on a diesel it could be worth it however.

Ram is grouped with Dodge in that group, so that'd include ever model they produce. Read the forums and talk with mechanics. The hemi with the new ZF 8 speed is a great combination. The diesel is a great engine as well. Ram's electronics are what scare me. That could be said for all new vehicles.

Personally, I've owned a 15 Ram for over a year and have had zero issues and one recall performed. Overall great truck. If OP received 31% off msrp, great job. Over 20% has been historically a great deal on Rams.

Good deal for RAM truck fans.

But Ram trucks don't fare well in crash testing. See youtube for results.
