Thanks goes to original poster Rhiannon over at Gizmo's Freeware (http://www.techsupportalert.com/c...vember.htm).

Paragon has just released version 16 of their Backup and Recovery program, and are giving away free licenses for the full version. This offer expires December 1st, 2016.

To get the program, you'll need to create a free Paragon account, then download and install the program. During installation you'll be asked to register for an account.

Just provide a valid email address and choose a country and you're done. You'll receive an activation code at the email address you provided.

During my installation, the program activated automatically after registering, and I also received the activation code email with registration details.
Supported Operating Systems: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8/8.1, and Windows 10.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Although I grabbed this (from the original gizmo email/post) after playing with it I find Macrium Reflect Free still offers much more feature wise....this is a very simple backup/restore package but it doesn't appear to let you clone to a smaller drive (ssd) for example.

Maybe you mean something else by "clone," but installing an image to a smaller drive than the original is something Paragon has been able to do for years when lots of other programs couldn't. I can't imagine they'd have taken that ability out of the new version.

I'm referring to direct cloning from hd to hd which is not something I saw in the program when I reviewed it. Backing up to an image with compression and then restoring is a workaround but takes substantially longer and requires significantly more space.

Additionally while many programs supported resizing most only worked for larger destinations and only recently with the rising popularity of ssd's was the need to restore to smaller hd's necessary.

Will it allow me to install on multiple computers?

Edit: You can't under one account, it's one free license per account. Possible to make different accounts, though.
