This is a Sager NP8151S. (A whole collection of companies customize and resell Sager/Clevo laptops.) (Strictly speaking, Clevo is the company that produces them; Sager is their main US importer.)

Clevo produces a lot of models under a confusing array of model numbers, so it's hard to find a review specific to this model, but in general they're reasonable quality laptops. Some people think the quality control is uneven; at any rate, you want to be sure that your reseller is going to provide ok customer service. But I'm seriously considering this laptop.

It's a good deal, maybe not great. I mean, the SSD is being thrown in is SATA (not M.2 or PCIe) and it still has a spinning disk for archive. I'd probably want a bit more at this price point, honestly, but it's a Clevo and that price isn't bad.

If you're at all interested in Clevo and their clones (Sager, etc.), you should check out the raw stats here:

You can see what the underlying hardware is capable of and what you might be missing out on in a potential deal. Definitely what I'll be looking at when it's time to upgrade.

I can't comment on this exact model, but I bought on a previous deal. I have only played Starcraft 2, the Witcher 3 on it but thing is smooth like butter.

Not to mention the customer service with Eluktronics is top notch, premium...something I did not have with my ASUS gaming laptop that had to be RMA once and still failed due to screen never coming out of hibernation mode.

This would've been the perfect deal if only it had a 250gb SSD... also not sure about the durability/build quality of this brand.

It's too bad I can't find anyone to buy my Sager/Clevo i7-4900mq with a 780m, would love to upgrade to a laptop with a 1060/1070.

I have a 2013 clevo st230w, build quality is decent, I put in most of my own stuff in there. Daily use at work, the only bad quality is the monitor bezel, that is of crappy quality, I had to use superglue and screws/bolts to lock it down now since the screen bezel/hinge pops out after frequent use.

This one is regular price but it's a brand known for quality. It has G Sync and it only weighs 4.8lbs, plus it has 16gb ram. It just doesn't have the 128gb ssd but it's not difficult to swap it. $1, 399. Better system for the money imo. I'm waiting for refreshes of the xps line or the UX501 before buying.

ASUS ROG 15.6" G-sync GL502VM-DB71 Intel Core i7-6700HQ, NVIDIA GTX 1060 6 GB, 16 GB Memory, 1 TB HDD, Windows 10 Gaming Laptop VR Ready , http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...34-234-299

Isn't GTX 1060 a desktop GPU?

It's an alright deal but really not that much less than what you see elsewhere:

http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np81...50rp6.html for instance can have a similar system for $5 more, come with a 2 year warranty, and some free headphones and stuff.

EDIT: Actually add $70 more if you need a copy of windows. But still $70 for the extra year of warranty and ability to customize how you want seems worth it.

yes, they got rid of the mobile version this year. I think they have slightly different specs but should be within 10% of the desktop performance.

Why so many TU? The build design does not reflect the price point. Those are the hinges of a $500 MSRP laptop (-:

I/O is pretty good though.

The GTX 1060M is basically the same thing, just a small reduction in clocks. Of course you will not get a desktop coolor, and the form factor is much tighter. That is where the performance disparity comes in (-;

More than that if you are considering the difference in cooling methods and form factors. On Notebookcheck the GTX 1060 (laptop not specified) had a 16% less max framerate than a GTX 1060 (desktop) on Mirror's Edge Catalyst.
