Google and Uber are offering a new promotion of 50% off 10 Uber rides (up to $5 off per ride) when you use Android Pay as your payment method.

https://www.android.com/pay/promotions/uber/

Detailed steps are above, but essentially it's like the past Android Pay promotions:
1. Download Android Pay, if you don't have it already
2. Setup your credit card in Android Pay, if you haven't already. Here's a list of supported US banks: https://www.android.com/pay/supported-networks/
3. Download Uber and set Android Pay as your payment method
4. Request 10 rides, one at a time
5. Enjoy half price (up to $5 off each of the 10 rides)

Now through Oct 15th.
Edit: Confirmed already-existing Uber and Android Pay users are eligible.
Confirmed the discount applies to any type of ride (UberX, UberPool or Uberblack, etc.)

Happy riding

Here are more details from Google's blog if you're curious https://android.googleblog.com/20...chase.html

Not the same. It's 50% off your fare, but limited to $5 off per ride. So what would normally be a $7 fare will be $3.50, a $20 fare will be $15 and a $10 fare will be $5.00.

So by using android pay your payment will be: ( 50% x $0-10 ) + ( 100% x $10+ )

For anyone that already has android pay this is a no brainer since over the course of the next 10 rides I'll likely save close to $50.

Thanks, this is a sweet deal. I confirm that it works for existing Uber accounts with existing Android Pay accounts.

understood, but I never take short Uber rides (i.e., $10 or below), so it's *never* 50% off for me, just $5 off each time. very misleading start to the title.

I too, used to be an iPhone User as it was the only true smartphone back then. Finally made a switch, took my time to adjust to Android, now I'm not turning back.

Do I have to opt in to this or something? I just took an Uber, used Android Pay and there was no adjustment to my bill.

Did you see the Promo in the Payment Section of your Uber App, right under Android Pay? See the attached screenshot. If you did all the steps correctly, you should see the Promo.

Again, you'd need to open the Android Pay app first, leave it open, then open the Uber App, select Android Pay as the payment method, select one of the cards stored in your Android Pay. Then you should see the Promo Details right under Android Pay in your Uber App.

I sure can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Followed your instructions. I don't see the promo. Oh well. Thanks for responding.

Hmm, that's bizarre. Do you wanna try reinstalling the Uber App? Or contact Uber as a last resort though from my experience, their Customer Service is pretty useless when it comes to technical issues.
