If you are looking for something as close to a studio-quality mic as possible, don't get this. Spend the extra ~$60 and get the Yeti. You will have much better control of the acoustics and the yeti suits more recording scenarios than this can.

I can vouch for this product, it's fantastic, portable w/ bag, and beautiful. $50 is a good price. Been using for few months. Hits this price every couple months or so.

looking for a far field Mic setup similar to Amazon Alexa/echo. any recommendations or would this be a good option?

I do use audacity to clean up background noise so maybe a different mic would make that unnecessary.

Another option to consider is the Zoom H1. It can work as a USB mic, but it can also work as a stand alone voice recorder or as a mic for a camera (which can take a 3.5mm stereo mic input). Zoom H1 often comes on sale for around $75. Of course, the form factor for Zoom H1 is a bit different than this mic.
