Audible [audible.com] is having another 3 books for 2 credits sale, though Sept 11 (Sunday). Categories are Mysteries & Thrillers, Sci-Fi & Fantasy Romance, Fiction, and Nonfiction.

As usual I expect you need to have two credits to see the sale.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Seems to be a relatively weak sales with mostly lesser known book. and 3 for 2 isn't that great anyway. Looks like I will pass this time.

I've been with Audible for quite some time, and I have yet to find one of these sales that I have taken advantage of. The book selections just always seem to be weak, and nothing I personally have any interest in.

Or maybe 1 book, but not the 2 or 3 it would take to make it worth doing.

You have title as "Must Have Credits" and that is not correct. I have zero, and I noted that they have small print, something like, "Don't have credits? That's okay, buy some at checkout!"

I looked into it, and you're getting 3 books for $27 basically, IIRC. I didn't do it because I'm still rolling in free/cheap books.

I've used Librivox for years and subscribed to Audible 2 months ago. Any advice or insight to help a newbie roll in free/cheap books??

I shop for books I want. Then, I check if they have a Kindle version on sale (will say this on Audible book page). I do not have a kindle! I just have the free app. Anyhow, you can click on the Audible page to go see the Kindle book at Amazon, and then, you can sometimes grab a kindle book for $1 or $2 and then pay another $2 or $3 for the Audible, so $3-$6 audiobooks. Just do a bit of clicking around.

Also, if you have Kindle Unlimited (~$10/ month) you have access to loads of free Kindle books, AND to Free Audible Books! Furthermore, if you use Unlimited to 'Check Out'/ borrow the kindle, you can still access the cheap upgrade to Audible for that few $. Then return the kindle book and keep your audible book!

If you can find a deal on Kindle Unlimited (some just showed up last month), this even sweeter. Having Kindle Unlimited has saved me TONS as an Audible lover.

Thanks, I didn't know that you could get cheap Audible books with Kindle Unlimited. I've had it for a while and have a hard time justifying it, but this just might help.

Too bad there aren't any new Audible trials. The daily deal sale a couple of weeks ago was the best I've seen for a while, if you'd gotten $20 for trying to cancel Audible. I got seven titles for $20 and didn't have to use a single one of my credits.
