These are fine headphones at this price. I have a pair damaged by some git who snapped the band while I was out of the office. The band has a metal "core" but is surrounded by plastic. If I hadn't just picked up lower priced cans, I would've seriously considered this offer.

My only complaint about the 280s was that the audio response wasn't as balanced (or flat) as my Sony MDR-7506, but they were comfortable and didn't threaten of fall off my head with every sudden movement.

These are not worth the price at all. Go with the philips shp9500, those have replaced the MDR-7506 as my go-to sub-$100 headphones

I'm sure the Philips SHP9500 are great, but they are open back so expect leakage & forget about isolation.
