Got an email from Additiveprinters.com and they are extending their labor day sale on CEL Robox 3d printer. The coupon is for $100 but oddly enough it adds free shipping if you refresh your cart after you add the coupon. Not sure if that is a mistake or what. Ordered one when the sale started a week and a half ago. Been watching these for a while, this is the cheapest I've seen them.

code is LD100OFFROBOX,email said valid thru 9/18.

"Fast, innovative and frustrating" as one reviewer said. Reading his review, another way to categorize it is fast and sloppy. It prints really fast for a hot glue gun, but not very well.

For this much money now days, you can get a really really good printer. Hell, for almost half this much money you can get a really really good printer. Ultimaker is the gold standard for consumer class printers. They used to cost $2500 or so. Monoprice sells the Wanhao clone of it for $700. By all reports, it's every bit as good.

had it narrowed to a few. few features I liked about robox and it's ready right out of the box, dual extruder, excellent resolution. To be honest, the lower priced printers can be finicky as heck. I'm beginner/intermediate in 3d printing and this thing is perfect (so far). European printers are phenomenal. Zortrax and Lulzbot (Lulzbot is Chinese I think?) were the two others I was looking at but those are 2k+ and wifey forbids that much. Was waiting for a deal so I hopped on this one. I already have a M3D Micro, which I love, but the thing is tiny and slow.

Also, I have a Makerbot at work that I use, maybe 4th gen. Thing is a freakin piece of carp. Nothing teaches you frustration like having prints continually die 13 hours into it.

Try looking at a makergear m2; works great out of box; run mine 10+ hours a day for almost a year and keeps chugging out parts!

Agreed. M2 was another on my list. Reason I didn't go there was I read numerous article's and reviews that M2 is more of a intermedite to pro level printer. Also price of the RBX01 is $400 less. You can't go wrong with Makergear tho, would throw in a vote for anyone leaning that direction.

As for the chap recommending Ultimaker (who admittedly doesn't own one), I did specifically looked at them. Too many issues. Big feed problems which is one of the biggest things u don't want in a printer. Thing will keep going for hours printing air. That's one of the main reasons I went with Robox. Proprietary filament feeder is great.

I'm a beginner novice with a FolgerTech 2020. I'm ordering another printer this weekend. Probably an ft5 for build volume.

I was at a maker fair today and a local school had a booth. I talked a while with the instructor and they run Robo 3d's. He's had zero trouble with them and he also has his own. The one they had there was quiet and smooth sounding. I'm considering one of those after seeing it run and print examples.

I'm not sure but I think I've seen the robox on eBay or Craigslist around $800-900 recently.

Folgertech? Not familiar with that brand. Does it make regular and decaf? Wink I have heard good things about Robo from consumers. Although it doesn't show up on many independent "best of" lists like Lulzbot, Makergear, and Robox do...

No chance you get a Robox on clist for 800. $1399 new with FS is a heck of a deal (opinions on 3D printers aside, wonder why the price isn't getting more love on SD). Even open box ones on Ebay are 1399. You really DON'T want to get a used printer. They're so tweakable and finicky that I wouldn't recommend it.
