this is an amazing deal. I replaced all mine with the 100watt version from Costco at 2 for $26.

you might want to rotate that picture and add a receipt because they aren't online.

Definitely a great deal. I also had the 100 watt version for $26. Wonder if it is a local electrical deal.

These are better than bulbs as they look better. It is a nice trim flush mounted to the ceiling. No gap between the bulb and trim.

Mostly because they look better - there is no gap between the bulb and trim so it's a cleaner look.

i see, is that the only reason? also, wouldnt the casing over the light cause it to be diminished or is it no different then the plastic casing on an LED light?

It's no different. Also, depending on your can/bulb combo versus choice of retrofit kit you could get a wider beam.

Rebate amount variable. $4 only in SF bay area, but if you can score $8 off, it is a good deal. I have a few of these and work pretty good with dimmer. These things are also rated for wet area (like bathrooms). Look clean.

I considered this over the weekend deal @ Home Depot for BR30 bulbs, but those BR30s aren't rated for wet areas, I believe.

I got a serious closeout deal on EcoSmart replacement lamps at HD a few weeks back. Have been debating these vs retrofit; but the price on the lamps was too good to pass up. The 'fit' inside the trim is much closer than the previous CFL lamps we had, so I'm OK with the appearance. I could always swap these out for the OP style kits and put these bulbs in the 'media room' can lights.

The OP price is darned near what you would pay for just lamps(bulbs) most places. I'd say it's mostly an appearance thing after considering the price of both.

Based on the picture of a receipt and the description, I can't tell what this is other than some type of LED light.

Well, it's a retrofit kit...2 pack; but you are correct that it's an LED.
Can you not view the pics? Quite detailed actually.

Sorry, I was viewing this from my Android app, and only the first picture was available. It made more sense once I viewed from my PC.

I just bought 5 packs of these at $15 each last week, better go back there with my receipt, or can they pull it on my account and make the adjustment?
I need to buy two more anyway, let's see if this is same price at my store too.
Thanks OP.
