FREE CHEESE IS ONLY IN A MOUSE TRAP. Use a prepaid card to sign up or, better yet, stay away from FP. My story: I cancelled all promo services the same day I subscribed. Next month they charged me $4.99, which is not even the price for any of the services I could sign up for. I called, they refunded, confirmed I was on the free plan with no extras, and said I would not be charged again. Next month I was charged $4.99. Canceled FP. The service was crap too. I used iPhone 5 and there were dropped calls, no service, phone rings once and disconnects. I popped in a T-Mo card into the same phone and it works fine.

I have four FP devices and three SIM cards. Since last Summer (2016), FP started charging phony fees -even for devices that are not powered on-. I've contacted them several times, not getting any response, or getting late responses, and finally had to dispute charges through my credit card. Right after the dispute being cleared through my CC company, I receive a notice on the support thread that's been sitting idle for about a week, that my account is cancelled because I've disputed the charges. FP had a great service offering, until recently. Stay away.

Freedompop is expecting you to slip up somewhere they can charge you. Read everything below CAREFULLY and BEFORE you decide to order anything. Slipping up and leaving the wrong data setting on your phone can cost you $$$.

Your Questions will likely be Answered QUICKLY in the Wikis of the following threads!

https://slickdeals.net/f/8663203?v=1 (Wiki has info on data only offer, including Possible charges - WARNING! and Supported countries.)
https://slickdeals.net/f/8585934?v=1 (Wiki has ADDITIONAL info on ANOTHER deal JUST LIKE THIS ONE that also offers minutes and texts.)

Despite advertising that this SIM works in Europe, users have reported [freedompop.com] no working service in Hungary and Denmark, even though they're on the list of supported countries.

NOTE: If you're offered an additional SIM for $0.01, DO NOT DO IT! YOU CANNOT USE THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS FOR THE 2ND SIM, BUT IT DOESN'T GIVE YOU THE CHANCE TO ENTER A DIFFERENT EMAIL BEFORE ORDERING 2ND SIM (So it is worthless). On that note, do not use the same email for ANY additional SIMS. ONE SIM PER ACCT!!!

But it doesn't give you a chance to enter a different email!!!?
(Edited to indicate this - it's true they don't give you a chance to enter a different email)

Want to use a prepaid card or "virtual credit card" to protect against extra charges? After purchase, change your credit card on file to a Vanilla Visa Gift Card with $1 balance:
https://www.vanillavisa.com/

Downgrade from $19.99 free trial before the end of the month or be charged each following month.
Log in from emailed link or with password emailed to you.
Go 'My Account -> Plans
There the first one is listed under My Plans is the $19.99 / month plan you're on. Click on it or the 'Details and Plan Management' link just below.
Then at the bottom of a description of the current plan is 'to downgrade your plan, click here.'
Do so, and if you're ready (losing additional trial minutes / data you haven't used), ignore the warning and click 'downgrade anyway'.

Then do the same for Freedompop Premium Plus under 'services', or be charged $7.99/ month.

The free service seems to have issues getting reliable data connection when going from wifi to mobile data. It constantly re-directs to "Sign into network: FreedomPop".

FYI - I followed those instructions word for word and it didnt work on a brand new boost moto E from walmart - so its YMMV. My Moto E has a HW version of P30 - not sure if that has anything to do with it.

@Naoautorizada, if you remove the SIM from a modded Moto E and put in a different SIM, do you have to redo the mod?

That's been my experience with the Verizon Moto E, which can likewise be modded to do GSM. The phone is reset back to CDMA for each new SIM puts in.

I have 4 of the Boost Mobile phones working with the Freedompop GSM sim. Ordered the first two from BB on 27 August and after I worked out the steps to get them running on Freedompop GSM, I picked up two more (2015) second generation from Walmart. My local store had them at $29, but they price matched their online price. All four are the P30 hardware version.

One of the Walmart phones came with 25.11.25 already installed.

my normal admonition on FreedomPop Global SIM .... voicemail is NOT free ... and you cannot disable the voicemail like you can on the Sprint FreedomPop phones.

So if you miss a call, or as often happens the incoming call does not ring, it will go to a voicemail that you cannot retrieve unless you pay FreedomPop. Of course, the person calling you doesn't know that.

Makes the Global SIM kind of useless for voice. But works fine for data.

I have swapped FP sims between phones a dozen times or more. When I reinsert the original sim after a swap, the APN settings are retained. There are two or three settings which need to be toggled on or reenabled but the key is to keep it simple - put it on Automatic (Step 6) and let the phone figure out the correct settings, i.e, it will choose LTE for you, etc. Where I ran into trouble in working out the steps was trying to specify the Preferred Network Type, Select/Choose a Network Operator, etc.
