Is this "real" 4k? Any soap opera effect?

Can anyone who owns this comment on the TV?

This size TV... for this price!!! in 4K!!!

How is this not a front page deal, I'm only hesitant because it hasn't picked up momentum... why?

Probably rgbw instead of the normal/superior rgb. I would advise against getting any fake 4K tv. It is only good for watching over the air Tv. Movies and gaming is a let down. The only reason I kept mine was because I got it for an effective $300 and after selling my old 1080p TV it was effectively a free upgrade. But now it is more of a downgrade IMO.

Ok, I have a store nearby, should I snag this up? Would it be a "SlickDeal" if online?

All I do is stream Netflix, so 4k isn't even a "selling point" for me, I'm only looking for a 65" HDTV for >$900.

Do you think I should jump on this?

Two main things. 1, it is only 60Hz and better ones are 120Hz. 2, it says HDR Pro but cannot display true HDR through its panel.

I see it was once $1000 w/ $300 gift card
https://slickdeals.net/f/9028839-lg-65uh5500-65-4k-hdr-smart-tv-300-dell-gift-card-999-99-w-fs-dell?v=1&src=SiteSearch

And also not long ago was $899... so maybe I should keep waiting.

It's hard waiting for a >$900 65"+ Smart HDTV....

How would it be as a computer monitor for text (not for gaming)?

I own this exact TV, and it's an amazing deal. Web OS is very smooth (and speedy), the panel looks really great at 4k, and is a great deal.

In regards to the "Soap Opera" look, I definitely don't get that. I watch a ton of 4k Netflix and it looks fantastic. Generally I see that soap opera look with 120hz and higher refresh rate TVs.

I keep finding good deals like this but they are 60Hz and you end up finding out it only shows 4K sometimes and it has crappy HDR, etc... Got too excited, too quickly.
