Amazon's customer service is horrible. I got a promotional email for laptops and the promotional item was $532 and the list price $550. But on the web site it shows the list price so i contacted CS and they said they never sent the email and havent sent me any emails since June which is a lie because I've been getting them forever. They wouldn't even let me forward the email to them to prove it. They didnt want anything to do with it. And she just left the conversation. Now I'm wondering if I want to ever do business with them again if they treat their customers like that. I really want that laptop but I dont want to buy it from them. I guess I'll have to hope someone who sells it will price match it. Anyone else have similar experiences? I would advise to stay away from them but I'm sure everyone wouldn't take that advice. lol. end of rant.

Amazon CS is usually decent. I did one time have a problem with a newbie with Subscribe and
Save. I reported them and Amazon corrected it. Amazon should send you a CS review. Complain.

How did you contact them?

I have found amazon phone support to be terrible. However, when I contact them via email they are always helpful.

yeah amazon cs used to be really great but i don't know what happened this time. havent received a cs review email yet. i used chat to contact them and checked the box that says to have the chat sent to my email and it never did so i have no proof of what was said unless they kept a copy. i'm guessing because it was a negative convo. same with the review email. other than the laptop, i can live without amazon and thinking of closing my account so i wont be tempted to buy from them...

I have never had an issue with this before. I would call them back or try chatting again with a new person.

Amazon is probably the best customer service in the world right now and this really isn't a exaggeration. So if you having trouble with them then it likely isn't because of their customer service

Amazon CS has no way of knowing whether Amazon's automated system did or didn't send you an email. If they said they didn't send you anything since June, they may have been referring to order emails, CS emails, etc. As for the price, Amazon doesn't adjust pricing to match a previous price whether it was 5 days ago or 5 minutes ago. It would be nice if they did, but it is what it is.

As for their customer service, I generally find it to be excellent, but 20% of the time it is indeed truly awful. Several weeks ago I saw an ad on RAVpower's website with a coupon for Amazon. I applied the coupon and it worked fine. Then I got up to get a cup of coffee and a snack. About 15 minutes later I tried to complete checkout and found the coupon had disappeared. I tried to reapply it and it gave an error. I contacted Amazon CS who instructed me to complete the order and they would adjust it afterwards for coupon amount. After I completed the order a moment later, the CS asked me to wait while he applied the coupon. He came back and said he was unable to apply it and that I would have to contact RAVpower to have the total adjusted. I argued with him for 10 minutes regarding the fact that he promised to credit the coupon after I placed the order and that I placed the order only because of this promise. I finally got him to patch me through to his supervisor and it was eventually resolved, but it never should have taken 30 minutes to get the issue resolved. You promise a customer XYZ and you keep your promise. Period. I run my small business that way and I expect Amazon to operate that way.

As an aside though, none of the CS reps work for Amazon. They all work for a third party company contracted by Amazon. This is why most couldn't care less what you think of Amazon. Nonetheless, Amazon pays this company to represent them so they are still ultimately responsible for the service.

Maybe you should learn how Amazon works. If they sent you an email, it's probably either a Gold Box deal (limited time) or a deal that was offered by either Amazon or a third party seller that's either sold out or no longer available for that price. You seem to have been around SD long enough. When good deals are posted on SD, and the community takes advantage of it and it sells out (making it dead), that's the same concept. Amazon is not your local Walmart where you can go to customer service, be a dick to them, and get a raincheck or a substitution. Amazon is first come, first served, while supplies last.
