Does anyone know if this is a Steam code? It says no DRM so I suspect not... Is it really a direct download?

It's also the same price on Steam, as well as the painkiller complete pack for 80% off!

I would like to use my no-rush credit on Amazon but end up with a Steam key. Has anyone bought this on Amazon yet?

Looks like a modified Q3 engine. Based on the age of this game, it might be. Wikipedia says it uses the "PainEngine" which could be anything... I think the Q3 engine was open source by 2005 or whenever this came out.

Ramble aside... it looks like it's 20 years old.

Is this game any good? Still would be willing to try this out for its price.

Absolutely - a ton of fun. It may be old, but it still plays well as a fundamental FPS.

Whoops I saw $2.50 for a painkiller. That would be 50% off street value!

I don't know about the engine but this game definitely does NOT look 20 years old. I remember how games looked back in 1996.

Yes, I think this one is generally considered the best in the series. Personally, it's one of my favorite FPS games.

Isnt this remastered? Doesnt look very upgraded for a remastered version yes this is a quake clone and was a very popular tournament and competition game but I always thought it was very inferior to quake 3.
