sorry its just a bad computer..

they shouldn't design them like this.. the reason they do is because they can do what you say.. they can dump them into a LARGE business that just needs a bunch of computers for lease..

but if you have a small business and you buy one or a handful per year.. or if you are a general home user.. stay away from this because upgrades are very bad

and no gamer will ever consider this system so not going there.

Look like everyone knows.. all you can put in this thing is 2.5 hard drives.. thats garbage.. and expansion or upgrades you just don't want to deal with.

they sell these computers because they require you buy the upgrades from them.. and businesses with 10,000 seats don't care they just need something delivered today for that new hire.

all their stuff is saved to the server anyway.

and why am i crapping on this deal?

because its been posted like 5 times since last spring and every time we go through this...

someone posts it...

then people come in and ask ... hey can i throw a 5TB drive in this thing? .. no .. no you can not... Hey can I put a better video card in it? ... no ... no you can not...

What if I upgrade the Power Supply.. well you can't do that because its a propitiatory power supply.

its a bad deal... and it needs to end..

and dell needs to put conventional motherboards in conventional cases with conventional power supplies so people can upgrade them...

know what a dell person said to me.. don't buy this .. then they sent me a link in the chat to their better version..

thats how bad this deal is.

so sorry if you are offended.. but if I can stop one person from making a $600 mistake that is going to cost them $300+ six months down the road then its best for them that I do.

I could just fly by and let people get taken

I probably should because this takes way too long to type...

but someone has to validate these deals eventually when they get posted over and over again and 80% of the replies are people like me warning others..

NO YOU CAN NOT UPGRADE IT .. or if you can its almost impossible or going to cost you a lot of money..

I am not saying there is a better deal out there..

I am saying we need to find a better deal .. and reject ones like this...

AND YOU CAN BET YOUR LAST DOWN VOTE THAT DELL READS THIS AND HAS BEEN READING IT SINCE THE FIRST TIME IT WAS POSTED......

no offense.. but some of our fellow deal watchers know

its not a deal.. if you are out of pocket to replace a case, motherboard and many other parts in a short period of time....

and I am not mad at the OP for posting it.. or for others who will say I am wrong...

I am mad that Dell who started making computers in his dorm room
would sell a computer like this...

because I would be disgusted and never buy another dell if i got this one and had to dump 50% more into upgrading it to make it compliant with every other system out there.

this is my last post on this deal.. any replies are going to be ignored.. i got no more time for it..

Don't just trust me people..... trust everyone above me saying this computer is not a deal

You would need at least a 450W PSU for those cards. http://outervision.com/b/aAYYBo

OK, well apparently I can't use google either because I could not find that information myself, however I am 90% sure that it is not a normal shaped power supply and that it supplies under 300W.

I have never purchased a Dell before, but does anyone know if I can swap/add parts to the tower? If so, how easy/difficult would it be?
