no one should buy this, and then watch them drop it to $499 to clear inventory

The 'deal' price on these hovers around $550, so this is actually decent for an election year. They have been $575-$600+ lately. Still, you can get a PSA with FN CHF barrel and some Magul bits for about $600 all in lately, iff you keep an eye out and are quick on the trigger. No warranty on the PSA tho.

This is less than your local dealer can buy the gun for. It was down to $500 a few months back, but this is the best price I've seen since at least June. If Hillary wins, the prices will climb. If Trump wins, they might get back down to 500.

Let's hope Trump wins then.

Prices on black rifles are already creeping up. This isn't too much more than earlier this year, so if you are on the fence about grabbing one, it might be a good chance.

Trump hasn't been a big second amendment advocate until recently. Is he pandering to the base? Stoking up fear is a big factor in driving prices up.

Trump: "I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun. With today's Internet technology we should be able to tell within 72-hours if a potential gun owner has a record.

The NRA publicly opposed his comment after the Orlando shooting, that club-goers should have been armed—a situation Trump said would have been a "beautiful sight."
The NRA response was ,"No one thinks that people should go into a nightclub drinking and carrying firearms"

It wasn't long ago the rumors spread that Obama had a plan to take our guns away, almost eight years later and virtually nothing has changed. Now the same rhetoric is being said about Clinton.

In many cases Trumps ideas and solutions to a problem are visceral and might be appealing to some, others find his comments reckless, and not logical. Much like his comments about patrons carrying weapons into a bar or nightclub.

False. Clinton supports an Australian style of gun ban. On the record stating as much. Obama has not been successful in the full extent of his desires for gun control, not for lack of trying. Never let a good tragedy go to waste.

Sounds premature that Clinton supports Australian style of gun ban/control, unless you have her on record saying more. Clinton at a town hall meeting last year said Australia's gun buyback program "would be worth considering" federally, "if that could be arranged." "I do not know enough detail to tell you how we would do it, certainly the Australian example is worth looking at"
Irregardless of Obama's desires for gun control, it could be argued he expanded gun owner rights. lifting two separate bans. All the rhetoric over the years about Obama taking away our guns was far less factual.
