Gold box deal for today.
3 different styles ranging from 47.99 to 58.99
29 Servings.
30 Year Taste Guarantee
https://www.amazon.com/b/ref=lp_1...3922515011

Caveat:
apparently each pack counts as 2.5 servings, Which I personally find as a little off putting since I almost sounds like it's a 29 meal ration, rather than a 12 meal ration.

Classic Assortment contains:
● 2 x Beef Stroganoff

● 2 x Chicken Teriyaki

● 2 x Beef Stew

● 2 x Lasagna with Meat Sauce

● 2 x Noodles and Chicken

● 2 x Granola with Milk & Blueberries

Essential Pack contains:

● 4x Rice & Chicken

● 4x Chili Mac with Beef

● 4x Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

Breakfast Pack contains:
● 4x Rice & Chicken

● 4x Chili Mac with Beef

● 4x Spaghetti with Meat Sauce
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

So the Classic is:
● 2 x Beef Stroganoff
● 2 x Chicken Teriyaki
● 2 x Beef Stew
● 2 x Lasagna with Meat Sauce
● 2 x Noodles and Chicken
● 2 x Granola with Milk & Blueberries

Essential Is:
● 4x Rice & Chicken
● 4x Chili Mac with Beef
● 4x Spaghetti with Meat Sauce
$50 for 32 servings = $1.56/serving

It looks like the 10# cans are 10 servings, and roughly $1.75-2.50 per serving. The pouches only have a 12 year guarantee in the description even though at the top of the listing it says 30 years. 25 year guarantee on the cans, so they clearly expect those to have a better shelf life?

I'll probably buy the buckets anyway just for a starter.

Interesting.. so the cost per calorie on the Essentials bucket is:

rice 270*3*4 = 3240
chili mac beef 230*2.5*4 = 2300
spag meet sauce 230*2.5*4 = 2300
7840 calories for $50.00 = 63.7c per 100 calories

A quick search found a 30 bucket available forAugason Farms 30 Day Survival Food Kit at $118.28 for 54,660 calories. [amazon.com] which comes out to 21.6cents per 100 calories.

I guess this is a good deal for a Mountain House branded product but that's a pretty insane cost per calorie difference.
These are good if you hike or camp and want to pack light with these food packs. But for long term storage nothing will beat dried white rice and dried beans cost wise.

Amazon is having a prime deal of the day sale on Mountain House buckets... looks like this will expire by midnight or while supplies last:

The essentials bucket is $49.99:
https://www.amazon.com/Mountain-H...B00955337I

They also have the classic bucket for $47.99, https://www.amazon.com/Mountain-H...B00955DUHQ, and the breakfast bucket for $58.99 (which is apparently the lowest it has ever been per camel)
https://www.amazon.com/Mountain-H...B00GH501T2

I picked up all three - also, I'm in CA and they didn't charge me tax on this, presumably because these are food items.

NOTE: The essentials bucket contains 12 packets but notes "32 servings" while the classic bucket notes "29 servings." The breakfast bucket contains 16 packets and notes "29 servings" (it is presumably more expensive due to more packets, despite same/less serving size compared to the essentials and classic buckets)

I have the essential one and it taste pretty good but imo it's a bit expensive.

Each bag is 2.5 serving, but it's more like 2. So 32 servings is more like 24. Making it $50 / 24 = $2.08

Yep. My SHTF kit consists of a crate of canned items and dried rice etc. I do have (3) of these mountain buckets in case I have to go on foot and ditch the Jeep

I like these for multiple reasons. Tasty, easy to prepare, last seemingly forever, and since all I need to do put boiling water into the pouch and eat directly from it, way less clean up than canned food. Who wants to use their emergency water stash on cleaning pots, pans, etc?

Pretty tasty. Used Mountain house from a previous slick deal while backpacking a few nights in Yellowstone and Grand Teton over the last two weeks. Steer clear of the bacon & eggs.

I would buy but every option has beef in it... Only $1-2 more per pouch to pick your own at normal prices.
