The three year purchase protection was only 5 bucks too. Went for it.

I was about to buy 2320D for the same $. Then this printer popped out on Staples website. And now I see this here Smilie Great deal for more than half the price of a new one. And 1 year warranty.

Does that work on refurb items?

Great deal, with wireless too. Based on Amazon reviews it looks like people complain about the "deep sleep" function. Here is a way someone commented to turn this feature off:

To cancel DEEP SLEEP on Brother Printer
1. Go to General Setup then OK
2. Ecology then OK
3. SLEEP TIME then OK
4. While sleep time is display push OK
5. Then press Down Arrow and CANCEL at the same time! (On older printer push down/back at same time)No more deep sleep
6. DEEP SLEEP on/off toggle by Arrow keys
7. OK to SAVE Deep Sleep off.

I can't say if this works or not until I get the printer on Friday. Thanks OP
******UPDATE****** I can confirm turning off Deep Sleep using the instructions above.

FYI: ST bases their warranties on what you paid for it and not it's regular price, they list the wrong ST. It should have been:

http://www.staples.com/2-yr-Print...ct_1037485

or

http://www.staples.com/3-yr-Print...ct_1266951

Keep in mind the 1st year of the warranty is basically worthless as you have to deal with the manufacturer during that year. ST doesn't go into effect until the 2nd year.

There is a new 2320D for $59.99. It lacks wifi though.
