You can just pay for the phone and one month of the plan ($13.99) and then just cancel it? So the final price being price of the phone + $13.99?

You sure you did it right? My total was $18.98.

I bought their $4.99 Sharp a little while ago too - no additional charges or prepaying 3 months.

it depends. some phones need to be put on stock rom. please see reply from textnow customer support. but putting stock rom will void warranty.

$119 seems a lot for what looks like a 1st Gen Moto X, even brand new. Am I wrong?

Nowhere in that thread does Kevin say the phone needs a stock rom.

TextNow routinely lies about their phones not being usable on other carriers. All that's needed is a messenger and a dialer.
