Thread Details

I've given my opinion in many places about the beer's i've tasted. Might as well have a thread about it. Feel free to add.

Currently having a Shiner Blonde.

A bit too light for my tastes, but a good Spring/Summer lager. Light, crisp, not too hoppy. Kind of like a hefeweisen without all the yeast. I tasted a little lemon at the first taste. Prett good. On a scale of 1 to 10, i'd give it a 7.

Special Releases:
This section is a trial run and can and may be deleted if we get little to no action in this section. If you read info about a special release, please post: Brewery, Name of beer(and style if you know it), LOCATION OF THE BREWERY, and the release day of the beer.

Once a beer is established in this list, you can make a bullet underneath it if you see it at your local liquor store(maybe city and state). If you do so, please put your username behind this posting in ( ) so if others possibly in your area want more info at to what store you saw it at, they can PM you. If you want to keep anonymous, by all means don't add your username.

Lastly, if you see old info, please update it. If this list gets cluttered and never gets updated this section will be deleted.

Stone Brewing Company - Double Bastard Ale (american strong ale), San Diego(Escondido), November 5th release date.
Avery/Russian River - Collaboration, not Litigation Ale (Belgian Strong Dark), Colorado, unsure of release date. Beermenus [beermenus.com] shows it at Burp Castle in East Village, NYC.

I'm having zero luck so far finding Surly here in the Chicago area. Sam's Spirits has a keg of it though.

While there I bought a 6 pack of Victory Hop Wollup. Brian said Victory is a solid brewer. He also said this was an APA which I thought was odd considering the name. I just cracked one open. Holy hops!! This may be one of the hoppiest beers I've ever had. It's 8.5% abv. Very tasty. I like it.
I like their Hop Devil better than their Hop Wollup. The Wild Devil is just a mess though IMO. Most agree of those I speak to that Storm King is their best.

Hoppiest beer I've had is probably Smutttynose Finest Kind but I thought it was waaaaay to bitter.

I haven't had Hop Devil. But, I had Wild Devil when I was in Minneapolis a few months ago. Interesting taste. But, I don't really care for soured beers.

This Hop Wollop packs a hop punch. Even hoppier than Hop Stoopid.

Hi guys...have any of you ever tried orange slices in your beer? I was just turned on to this ...first was with a Blue Moon, it's quite good with many beers! People put Limes in Corona, heck...this could be a nice summer drink...

I went to a Hard Rock Cafe in the Bahamas and asked for a Kalik with oranges...the bartender never heard of it. Well, he liked it and is naming a drink - Kaco's Kalik after me, so he said...I almost want to go back to see if I can order one!

Beer is good!

Finally found Surly Furious on tap. I'm eating and drinking at Sheffield's Beer Garden in north Chicago. The drive was a bitch. It's right in a college campus. Parking is horrible.

I was wondering when this thread would get snipped. It finally did. Sadwalk

I'll have to pick up some booze for the Giants/Cowboys football party I'm hosting on Sun. night. I'm not sure what I'll get or what others will bring. I may pick up Oktoberfest seasonal beer.

BIG score today. There is a beer/wine store in SA that is going out of business. 65% off everything. Got 8 bottles of DFH 120 . 2 6ers of Victory Storm King for $4 each. 4 bombers of Hop Stoopid and Lagunitas Sumpin Sumpin for $3 each . I will be going back next week on Tuesday for the final day to buy him out.

drinking devils dancer triple ipa from founders....holy crap i didn't realize this was 12% abv... pours a minimal head... cloudy but i am cool with cloudy beers... has a cherry taste, kinda reminds me of 90min in some small ways, but this one is delicious... kinda syrupy, sweet with a nice crisp bitterness at the end.... quite tasty...i wish i had more drool

this was after meeting a buddy in the bistro which i got a free stone ipa... then i paid $2 for a fish tail poisidian(sp?) russian imp stout which was fantastic... then i had a bomber of red rocket ale from bear republic which i got for free from stone... so yeah, this 12% abv devils dancer is going to be a sipper laugh out loud
