Getting an error message with the code. Seems to be a great deal for a budget gaming laptop if it works though!

Got it, doesn't seem to work while logged in to HP's corporate perks account. Now I just have to decide if I want the Envy touch from yesterday for 40 bucks more or this one.

Omg. This seems like a great deal. Would this be good for playing old and new game alike guitar hero 3 and gta v? What about for 3D CAD modeling like ANSYS and SolidWorks and mathematical programming software like Wolfram Mathematica and MATLAB?

Oh, yeah. I've often heard that HP laptops are very prone to overheating. I had one that was like that. Anyone know how this one is? The CPU and GPU seem a bit weak. Frown

Yes, you can. It has 2 SODIMM DDR4L slot, each of them supporting maximum 16GB modules, so you can go up to 32GB. It also has one M.2 Slot which has the SSD and one 2.5" slot where you can attach a 2.5" SSD or a HDD.

Depends upon your need. 256GB SSD upgrade costs extra $80 and SSD upgrade cost extra $60. After that both will have the 33% discount on top of that. So the prices are pretty close.

Why not both?

I think I'm going to buy this.

I'm about to buy this thing. Can someone please tell me amy negative things about this packing that I have not been able to notice or read about from research? Why isn't it WAAAY more popular here in Slickdeals? It seems like an amazing price to me, especially compare to similar laptops that are overpriced but still make it to frontpage.

That depends upon your choice. I have given you a value for money configuration. If you can pay more, configure it with both GTX 960M and the 256GB SSD. price will be around $650-$660 range.

That is exactly what I will do. Thanks. I hope this turns out well. I'm a college student with not much money. I saved up over the summer to get a computer that can last me many years.

Edit: I think you forgot to insert a link.

Thanks. I noticed they mentioned a con as "no maintenance hatch". Does this mean that I will still be able to upgrade ram and have a SSD / HDD combo but it will only be more difficult to install them?

Maintenance hatch enables very easily opening the cover to access the internal components and lots of high end gaming Laptops like Asus ROG, MSI G60 and G70 series provide dedicated maintenance hatch for opening it.
But not having does not mean it can't be upgraded, it means it is a bit tough. You have to open all the screws and remove the complete back panel. Here is the quote from the same review:-

In addition, the computer is not easily maintainable. Those who want to get to the innards have to open the case, which is tiresome here.
