Sir you have so many reps, and post that this should be an instant answer! If you have to question it, probably a no-go. I'm in the same shoes as you. for $400, you better be getting a 60-70 1080P. I saw a bunch of 55' on eBay/SD for $550 or so. The price is going to drop a lot, just let 4K play out do it's thing (which people say you can't really tell the difference) . Anyhow try the eBay electronics TV daily deals just bookmark it, and you'll see for $100-$250 more you can get something more modern.

I added the link for you here, or for anyone.
I'm waiting for Black Friday or going the Cosco rental route then Black Friday

Not so great. Its 60hz. Having black Friday ahead, this is not a great buy unless needed.

There are usually great deal on TV on black friday. But its challenging to grab one. I was able to get BestBuy doorbuster deal in 2014 after waiting in line for 4 hrs.
Amazon doorbuster deal appears at random time, usually they save it for end of day time

What are your thoughts on it?

I'm considering it for the study. Might be a bit bigger than I had originally wanted (was looking at 48-50") but at $400, it doesn't sound too bad.

not defending this deal but virtually all 1080p tvs are 60hz. if it states otherwise it's either an old 3d tv or a non-3d tv with marketing splashed all over the box. chances are it's the later, and is true 60hz with software designed to fake higher refresh rates. I purchased or installed 10 tvs over the past 18 months between work and personal and the first thing I do on every tv is turn that shit off. it makes everything look so bad (like a soap opera).

That's an interesting analogy how u would equate reps/posts to being a tv expert. I don't see an instant answer. I like asking questions. Perhaps someone has either items I mentioned or similar/better tv & may have an insight or experience that could be helpful. I like to help friends & family get the best for their needs so it's not always about me. I've heard the opposite that most are pleased with their 4K tv. I know about Ebay electronics deals but u miss the point of the forum.
How did u get Sir out of my post when there is no indication of gender in my profile? Just wondering.
