These are never cheaper than $430+, and it's not my favorite. But you can't beat this deal! I'd almost guarantee it's below cost at this price. The 26132 is the next model up.

It can be loud, but it's made by Whirlpool. Sears sells the similar Whirlpool washer. It has only been $450 at the cheapest.

$389 for members, and some stores should have this in stock. Mine has 3.

I no longer work for Sears, so there shouldn't be any issues with me posting. Thanks!

How well do agitator-less top-loaders clean?

Almost all of them work the same. Only a couple GE washers, a Whirlpool, and maybe Speed Queen have them. This just is open and no fabric softener dispenser. The Maytag Bravos is almost the same thing, but a glass lid, dispenser, and quieter. These are belt driven. Almost all washers have a control panel. There's a GE that doesn't, but I'd personally, if money wasn't so tight I could only afford this, buy the 26132 direct drive washer. I personally wouldn't need anything else. Several Maytag, Whirlpool and Kenmore washers will switch places in price, making one a better deal than the other. If it's 4.3 and below, it's belt drive. Upper size drums from Whirlpool are direct drive.

I'd stay away from GE, Samsung, Frigidaire and Bosch. Personal preference from what I've seen, not having really worked on them, or reading Consumer Reports, but more seeing what people say when they come in. Fifty percent of the time I'd mention GE, people would say, "Never again!" Rarely does it happen with Whirlpool. It's funny when people don't want one brand, but want another that was made by the same company, Or they think the new machines are made exactly like the old ones made even 5 years ago.

I had two of these returned after someone bought them, but that was when they were new. After I would disclose that these were loud and would occasionally shake, I'd never have one returned. I rarely had a return or upset customer. I would sell based on their needs what they want, and their budget. Give the customer the Good/Better/Best options, and usually get the sale, unless Home Depot or Lowe's had a better deal, but I never get any help at those stores, and they never seem to have any great deals. (I've gotten, and given, some smoking deals. I bought a floor model Jenn Air 30" wall oven for $109.)

LunchboxBen, in the market for a washer. Am looking at this Kenmore with the Direct Drive and steam: http://www.sears.com/kenmore-4.8-...ockType=G8

It appears to be a rebranded Maytag Bravos at a good price. Any thoughts on quality and price of the model linked above? Is it work the extra $50 over the 26132 that you recommended?

The other washer that I am considering is this LG:

It was recommended by my repairman and it gets good online and CR reviews.

The 27132 has steam and the soft close lid. If you have really dirty clothes or need to sanitize them, I'd go for the 27132.

Whirlpool, Maytag, Crosley, Admiral, several others, are made by Whirlpool Corporation. The Maytag have a slightly nicer detergent drawer.
