Hi - I missed the last deal on Tracfone at HSN so have been watching for a reasonable handset bundle to come on sale. This seems better than average with Marshmallow, LTE, microSD, etc. I haven't found a lot of details online though if it is the SM-G550FY then it is 1.3Mhz quadcore, 1.5GB ram and dual SIM.

  • Camera: 5MP rear-facing camera; 2MP front-facing camera
  • Operating System: Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Thank you for posting this deal.

The Indian specs in sdddg007's link state that the On5 has 4.3 GB of available storage. It seems that people with On5's have had no luck configuring their SD cards as adoptable storage without rooting their phones first. I would love to know if the Tracfone version has the same limitation. This would disqualify the On5 for me but may not be a factor for others.

T-Mobile users give the On5 mixed reviews:

When I check zip code availability it says network=gsm5 in the URL. Does that mean it's on the T-Mobile network?

If "GSM5" appears, your phone will operate on T-Mobile's network.

I have this on Metro PCS. Great phone but without all of the high end features. One thing I found an issue with is that sometimes text messages aren't sent out using the Samsung messaging app. I've had issues with a lot of Android phones I have owned.

How "locked" will this phone be? If I wanted AT&T service via Tracfone could I move the minutes to a BYOP SIM and then use that SIM in the phone? If I stop using the phone will I still be able to unlock it 12 months after initial activation or is it only after 12 months of active use that it can be unlocked? Thanks

From T-mobile website, this phone gets 2.5 out of 5 (out of 40 people rating it.) So I passed, good price though as T-mobile had it for $140.

Interesting, on another page on T-mobile's site it has 4.2 on 8 reviews, on walmart.com 4 stars, 7 reviews, and on bestbuy.com 3.9 stars on 43 reviews. I guess I'll try it, hsn.com has pretty easy returns.
