There are only 3 main cables attached to this power supply (2 motherboard cables and a video card cable). Most of the time these 3 cables will be used anyway. The rest of the cables for sata, molex, pcie, etc are all removable and you can see all these black cables in the last picture on newegg's site.

On a scale of 1-10 how good is this for a power supply? I'm planning on building my first PC soon and just wanted some general information

Seasonic is a top brand. it being rated 80 plus gold means it should be a top notch unit. There should be reviews around but i wouldn't bother and just buy it. Its guaranteed to be great.

hmm. Ijust bought Corsair CX750M
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6817139051

$80 - $20 rebate = $60. It's 100W more which I don't really need and it's only Bronze not Gold

Setup a return/refund for the Corsair and just ordered the Seasonic instead. It seems like it's of higher quality overall not just the 80 plus rating. Thanks OP

review on the Seasonic G650: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules....6&reid=348

sounds like a winner!

nice. I bought a 600w (off brand)Bronze PSU from Best buy, bought this and am returning the other one.

what does the semi modular mean when it comes to this PSU? all the cables look attached to it permanently. I don't see anything removable.
