I've never seen the Predator in person. I heard it's pretty impressive though.

Hopefully this helps, but I purchased a 34 inch ROG Swift from Asus to try out , and I started getting eye fatigue in games like League and Overwatch. I was able to run league of legends at 100 FPS at 100hz, but Overwatch on my GTX 770 only gave around 60-75 fps on medium settings. The distance from end to end horizontally was too much for my eyes.

I ended up returning it and getting an Acer xb271hu. It just feels a lot smoother and better, and I can actually get over 100 frames on a 2560x1440 compared to a ultrawide. Just take that into consideration. I didn't think constantly looking at minimaps and other things that require eye movement to the edges of the computer screen would cause that much eye strain on a 34inch but it did.

Hope that helps.

yea, i hear great things about it, and it has G-Sync of course which is a selling point for me. If this LG had G-Sync i would probably just buy it now tho to not worry about dealing with Craigslist

Solid deals. I've gone through 5 monitors in the last few months, trying to find the 'right one', and ended up with an LG 34" Ultrawide. But it's a 2016 model (34UM88). LG ultrawides manufactured in the years prior, like the 34UM94 (2014), are notorious for backlight bleed. I have an LG 34UM87C (2015) boxed up and ready to be shipped back tomorrow for that reason.

The screens look great, connectivity is phenomenal, etc., but I would advise reading some reviews on the 34UM94 and other LG ultrawides released in the years prior to 2016 before jumping the gun, or at least make sure you have a solid return policy to fall back on.

If can afford to spend an additional ~$50 and are willing to give up Thunderbolt connectivity, the 34UM88C can be picked up on Amazon for less than $600. It comes and goes (currently available for $598.52 + Free shipping + no tax where applicable, seller is RackGo) [amazon.com] but it's a solid option that comes calibrated out of the factory and supports FreeSync up to 75hz.

I'll get off my soapbox now. Smilie

The Acer XG270hu has been at one time $300 and regularly at $350.. I might just wait it out for BF and see if it drops around 300 again.
