Honestly every year people seem to wait for the black friday deals to pop up and they're inevitably not as good as something about a month earlier. I kicked myself for not ordering earlier than black friday thinking the same thing you are.

Oh is it time to buy or wait for black friday... First world problems.
there isn't going to be a black friday for this gen of gfx cards. Having them in stock would be a black friday, let alone having them at retail.

Agreed. Also not sure whether to get this or the 1070 itx deal for my SFF case - any opinions? Will be for 1080p gaming.

The Zotac Amp! 1060 GTX is a better card and comes in at a similar price using the 15% new customer discount.

Happens to me every time. Black Friday is pretty much dead to me. The better deals always come out the month or so before.

Hmmm. Is the 1060 6GB better or worse at 1440p? I would play high render distance games (.e.g Arma 3). I run my monitor at 144 Hz so what about power draw at mid-performance levels? What games/situations would the 480 beat the 1060 in? Because the 1060 has been $10 to $20 more, uses less power, and benchmarks suggest consistently better performance (UserBenchmark [userbenchmark.com] and AnandTech [anandtech.com])

Is your monitor free sync or gsync capable? Because that right there would dictate what you would get.

I would go with the 1060, it's a better card for a very small upgrade cost

Neither? It's a QNIX Q2710 27' 2560x1440, one of the korean PLS panels that can overclock to 120Hz, not 144Hz (my bad).

This looks very tempting over a GTX 1060.

Not sure if it's a big difference or not, but this has a lot more video memory than the 240$ 1060 (which I think is 3GB). worth considering at least
