Why is this getting red? Seems legit.

there have been several deals recently for the 3300 with two lenses for around this price. refurbished with a bunch of accessories and 2 lenses for about the same. Do a search on sd.

of note though, this is a vr lens though... might be a good buy for someone.

Says this on the bottom: "Nikon USA Factory refurbished with 90 Day Nikon Warranty"

If it means that the camera was refurbished by Nikon USA
and comes with a 90-day warranty honored by Nikon USA,
then I think this is a very good deal for beginners. Or for
an enthusiast who needs a cheap(almost disposable) DSLR
for vacationing in questionable countries such as bad parts
of Central America, Africa, Southeast Asia... etc.

first, it's an okay deal

second, you are comparing a brand new amazon item to a refurbished from buydig, not same thing.

I've purchase refurbished DSLR's from buydig before and I can honestly say it's worth it. And products that are refurbished by the manufacturer are just as reliable if not even more than new ones. And buydig is a certified Nikon retailer. So you can trust it

this. i got my 3200 from them. had something like 700 exposures on it.

i think most the refurbished dslrs are actually just returns where people realize they have to use their brain to get a good pic. which is too complicated for some

Too bad. My last 2 purchases. D5200 and D3200 we're both refurbished and both had a shutter count of zero

I'm not complaining, 700 is nothing. 300-500 in a day is what i take when i travel. going on a 30 min walk with my macro lens and i'll easily hit 100.

black Friday is around the corner . . . . and pre BF sale will probably start mid October.

I will take the D3300 with 18-55 VRII, 55-200mm VR II and Wireless Adapter for $350. That's my budget and i am sticking to it.

Is this D3300 camera better or the Canon t6i in terms of overall performance? I know its not that easy, but all things being equal (i.e 18-55m starter lens)

Having a hard time seeing the differences/making a decision...

Isn't the t6i twice the price?

Performance is about the same [youtu.be] if you intend to keep the kit lenses.

However, D3300 has a better dynamic range, cost less, the size is smaller, weight less and the ergonomics/handling is better. For videos nD3300 has a side microphone jack and from the several testing D3300 does a better job with video due to better dynamic range.

On the other hand Canon has much bigger selection of lenses, Canon lenses generally cost less.

So my advice would be, if you plan to do any lenses upgrade Canon would be a better deal due to high cost of Nikon lenses. However, if you plan to do video and photography and just use kit lenses then Nikon would be a better deal.

Hope this helps
