Yes, you're correct that the 55" is 60Hz which is the only thing stopping me from getting this TV because I want a TV to watch sports. CNET gave it their editors choice.

Btw this isn't as good of a deal as this deal from Buydig's eBay store from a month ago that made the Slickdeals front page.

Thanks so much OP! Have had my eye on this TV the past week. This makes it the same price as the 50" at many retailers.

You are welcome! Ive been researching for awhile and I think it's the best value for the price range and size @ $699. I almost grabbed the samsung ku6300 from dell for $750 and the $250 gift card but this tv better suits my needs. Dark room and wider angles, better (certainly not best @60 hz) motion score from Rtings.

How is the return policy for buydig?

I bought the M55-D0 at Costco for $780 plus 5% off w/ the Chase Freedom card, but then I also had to pay taxes. I think this deal would save me about $120 in the price difference and taxes. I was holding onto the Costco set unopened as a price lock for if I saw a better deal leading up to black Friday, but this seems like it might be a good enough deal.

Apparently, they will take it back within 45 days but ask that you pay return shipping.

I was waiting for as good a deal at the last one for $620, but I think this will have to do. Thanks, OP Smilie

55" is 60Hz, 60" is IPS, so 65" is the starting size. And at the price range, I'd be looking at the P-series or Samsung 8000.

No 4k tv will do 120hz, if they say it does is that shitty soap opera effect.

I read a lot of misunderstanding on this issue. There are some 1080p panels (tvs) that can genuinely display 120hz refresh rate despite there being no actual 120hz content. To date all the consumer 4K TVs max out at 60hz. A TV can be capable of both 120hz @ 1080p and 60hz @ 4K, but not every tv is.
