Damn. Great price on a good home theater projector with plenty of lumens. lens shift, and 3D capability (if you're into that). Wish this price was around a few months ago when I bought my Pro 4030 - I could use a few more lumens. Lowest I've seen this model. I say buy this if you're on the fence. If I had any justification at all to use another projector I'd jump on this.

** LENS SHIFT **
Vertical: 60% max (up and down)
Horizontal: 24% max (left and right)

2500 lumens, 70,000:1 contrast ratio. Includes 2x 3D glasses also.

Ugh, I wanna buy this but have zero need for it. I hate yinz guys.

Ugh... I've been wanting to get the 2045 for a while and waiting for it to go back to $650 + $200/$300 gift card. I know last time that deal was a price mistake from Best Buy, but apparently it has happened twice. I only wish it happened a 3rd time. Seeing this deal, I have been doing research for the past hour on this 3500 model and it seems to be better than the 2045. I've also seen a display model at Best Buy and this thing is huge compared to the 2045. I also found out this model is 2 years old and the newest model, the 3700 is coming out October 17, 2016. It's already 1:00 AM here and I have to work tomorrow. I think I should just pull the trigger and think about my poor impulsive decisions later. Would Best Buy charge me a restocking fee if I return it unopened?

By the way, the things I found better about this projector compared to the 2045 is that it has a higher contrast ratio (70,000:1), 2045 has 35,000:1. It has lens-shift, 2045 does not. It has 2 10W speakers, 2045 has one 5W speaker. One reviewer on Amazon stated that he had a 2045, but it didn't work well in a lighted room then bought the 3500 and that solved his problem. Oh, and it also includes 2 3D rechargeable RF glasses, which on Epson's website are $99 a pop.

Screw it, I'm pulling the trigger.

As you may have found in your research, only feature missing from this one compared to 2045 is the built-in WiDi on the 2045 - so you don't need to run HDMI cable to the projector if the source has ability to stream to the projector using WiDi protocol. Other than that this projector is better than 2045 in every way.

Hope this helps,

Can it do short throw? Or is there a minimum threshold for how far it needs to be from the screen?

I just had wiring done in my basement to install a projector and the installer recommended 6' from the other choices of 10' and 13' (got a couple of bulkheads running across the viewing direction).

Better than the refurbed BenQ's that went on sale last week? Those have great color but I have never personally tried a Epson although I know the brand is more established.

Wow, this is a really a great deal. I bought this from BestBuy months ago for $1300 with free Ultimate logitec remote. The projector is an excellent for home theater. I still enjoy watching movies with this projector. I guess, EPSON is releasing the 4K support model soon.
