I just bought 4 of these for my NAS; been waiting for a good price on 4TB NAS drives. Good reviews and excellent price per GB. I see this going FP. Thanks sr71!

The link opens my Newegg app, and clearly shows 1 yr reseller warranty, in 2 places. Double checked to confirm just now. Not sure what the verdict on reseller warranty is, even if 3 yrs. No reviews for this item as of yet on Newegg.
Update: checked thru browser and shows 3 yr warranty from reseller. Newegg app still shows 1 yr. No reviews.
2nd update: item now shows 3 yr reseller warranty.

It looks like the link opening in the newegg app is taking you to the wrong page then. Try opening the link on a desktop or a mobile browser instead, or searching the product ID 9sia5ad4dp0316 from the app also worked for me.

Bought 2, thanks OP. This is really great price for 4 tb and HGST is largely considered the most reliable HDD.

Edit: backblaze data has these drives at .57% failure on 640k days on a pretty huge data sample:

They are a slightly older model, but HDD tech doesn't change that much. I hope these aren't recertified or something.

Warranty: I think there is a standard source of confusion from sellers about drive warranty. It seems the USA retail boxed version of this drive gets a 3 year warranty from HGST. The bulk oem drives, which is the drive in this deal, do not. Resellers often copy and paste product info from one version to the other and so reseller listings of oem drives can easily have misleading warranty info.
A reseller can offer whatever warranty they want, but there are risks: exact warranty terms may not be spelled out or may be not provide much protection, and sellers come and go.
It seems this drive is also available from ebay sellers (e.g. wpii-usa) for $100 (1 year reseller warranty). I bought this drive in retail box last Dec for $88 from frys.com but have not seen a price that good since. I would like to get another for NAS.
Backblaze.com data shows this is a very reliable drive. The major cost of drive failure is data loss and your time. No warranty covers either. So as I think about this maybe the bulk drives with limited warranty are the better current deal for most people, including myself.

I bought the same hard drive from the same seller on Ebay for $100 last month. Not sure if he is still selling at the same price but I will check in a bit.

Edit: Price on ebay is also $110 now. If you want, you can also buy it from Ebay if you have Ebay giftcard, Ebay bucks etc.

Their Q2 2016 stats have them even better at .11% failure rate. https://www.backblaze.com/blog/ha...s-q2-2016/

FWIW the backblaze data is a little iffy to me. The HGST drives were mostly 3yr+ old drives that had made it past the infant mortality rate of most drives from 0-2 years.
Comparing 3yr old drives to brand new drives is not a good control group.
This is very tempting to me since I'd use in a parity space anyway and I haven't see WD Reds drop below $140 in a long time.

The Q&A tab has a Q about new or used/refurb and Newegg Support responded with:

...brand new. It will come closed in the original retail package with manufacturer seal.
This leads me to believe that the 3 year warranty stands correct.

How do these compare the the HGST "Coolspin" that we occasionally see for $89 for the 4TB? Those are retail/manufacturers warranty, so that's obviously a plus, but what about the actual drive? HGST seems to list this as cold storage, with lower MTBF and for "low workload", but low workload for enterprise is more than most will ever need for home use. I just don't know what to make of these. Sorry for rambling.

it's the same drive as in the boxed Deskstar Coolspin w/64MB cache.
