Darkest Dungeon has posted for Vita and PS4 here [playstation.com]
It is 20% off for the first two weeks for PS+ members.

The game is cross-buy, and (I believe) cross save.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

The lack of healing outside of combat (besides a few measly points from eating food you have to buy) really ruins it for me. It's like when you increase the difficulty of a sports game, and the game artificially makes your team bumbling idiots instead of actually making the game harder.

They have a lot of really good ideas, a bunch of good ideas that turn sour with random number generators that systematically don't favor you, then a handful of ideas that are just plain dumb.
I played but it is too punishing... the levels get more difficult but a killed character will have to start from the very beginning... basically if you don't like rng to death, don't buy it...

Played this at PAX, last year. It's great. I might have to pick it up.

Bought this when they first listed the game few hours ago and was surprised to see my PS+ sub actually did something for once lol. Can't name a free game I've played from the sub but at least it saved me $5 for once. Wink

This game is nothing short of amazing expecially if your into rogue style but it will turn off many gamers and is way harder than dark souls. If your not good at strategy and rogue I would avoid it like the plague

I just started playing this on PC about two weeks ago and am hopelessly addicted. Really great RPG systems and amazing presentation, especially if you were already a Lovecraft fan.

The game is pretty brutal, but if you read up some strategy guides you'll see how to chew through the game. When I was playing it on PC a few months ago I remember getting past several bosses without anyone dying.

If you play it without any strategy guides though, you'll suffer and have a lot of people die unfortunately. Bosses and surprise enemies will pop up that will ruin you and wipe your party. I like playing games without knowing what to expect, so that was the biggest drawback for this game. Others may not mind

I have plugged a lot of hours into this game. It can be frustrating at times, but overall if you are careful about your decisions and enter dungeons well stocked, you will be successful. You'll lose some heroes but should overall prevail.

The key for me was holding off on boss battles until 'town event' weeks that allowed any level character to enter any dungeon. Then I'd send my higher levels in to kill lower bosses. Alternatively, if you have good items and a well balanced party of max level (for that particular dungeon) you can overcome bosses just fine. I have not consulted any guides and have enjoyed the game just fine.

The only part of the game I think was poorly done are the random town event raiding parties. The trick is to send a group of level 0 adventurers and then either flee or let them die, otherwise you will lose hard earned town upgrades. Having an unavoidable, near impossible random event was a terribly poor design decision. Especially since the rest of the game is mostly about weighing risk vs reward and playing it (relatively) safe.
